The all-day-dining, modern Bangkok style café offers a collection of food that captures the spirit of Bangkok. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the menu showcases Siam heritage classics, Bangkok street food and Western café staples, retaining Siam traditions and absorbing the colonial influences from its neighbouring countries and the new world. Fantastic Fish and Chips at Bonnie Gull

When you step inside Bonnie Gull, you are whisked away from the dark London streets and could so easily be on the South coast. Its white interior is lit with small twinkling lights and is adorned with kilometre of fishermen’s rope evoking the nostalgic feeling of a seaside shack. The infamous Nirvana quote, ‘It’s ok to eat fish ‘Cause they don’t have feelings’ stands proudly on the wall and the winning feature (for me) the map of Britain points out exactly where the fish has been caught that day, which not only means that dishes depend on the catch but […]

Saturday Lunch at The Grove

The newly refurbished gastro pub situated in South London’s popular suburb, Balham, has also just re-launched their menu. As a resident of Balham and within walking distance of the pub, it was hard to resist the opportunity to go and taste their new Eastern American/British influenced menu. The revamp has done wonders and immediately walking into the restaurant there was a cosy and intimate atmosphere in a quirky and light space. To start, I had mussels with smoked bacon and pale ale. Sophie had the smoked rainbow trout and roasted chilli fish cakes. The tastes from the juices were delicious […]
