Autumn at Bumpkin

In case you hadn't noticed already, temperatures have plummeted and gone is the vivid green from our trees' leaves. In fact, most of the leaves have fallen off. But it's not all doom and gloom at the lovely cosy restaurant that is Bumpkin, where chefs are embracing the change in seasons rather than be defeated by it. So what, if no good weather can be hoped for, shall we expect from Bumpkin this bracing autumn? Well, executive chef Raymond Fulton-Corrie has created a menu bursting with flavour, while perfectly reflecting the seasonal changes in fruits, vegetables and meat occuring in […]

Q PARK, Level -7

For ten days this month, during Frieze Art Fair, British artist Toby Ziegler will install a site specific exhibition in the basement of Q Park, a car park space accessed by lift and concealed fourteen floors below street level on Old Burlington Street. Five sculptures will be influenced by Brueghel's painting "The Cripples" and will be surrounded by large-scale light boxes depicting an abstracted thicket of horses legs, derived from a detail of a Piero della Francesca fresco. The light boxes will provide the only light source for the underground installation, replacing the windows of a more conventional space and […]

Hamburgers at The Draft House

German chef Oliver Trific is flying into London on 22nd October to unveil something rather special on another one of Young&Foodish Daniel Young's BurgerMondays. Where is this taking place? The Draft House Tower Bridge. This will be the world premiere of Hamburg-hailing Trific's 'Hamburger' (get it?), a steakburger doused in smoky shallot mayonnaise, beetroot pickles, herring salsa, a fried quail egg and fries to finish. Trust us, it's unbelievably good (after all, didn't hamburger come from the name of the second largest German city originally?) Why don't you query it over a burger? There are two sittings to choose from: […]
