Let Them Eat Cake!

With all eyes on the dress, it was perhaps unlikely that the starring feature of this weekend’s wedding would be the cake – although many were intrigued and delighted by William’s McVitie’s-based request. Charles and Diana made quite a show of their desserts, with a whopping 27 varieties, so it’s fair to say that wedding cakes run strong in the Windsor household. Step right up to Wellington Arch this weekend – an unsuspecting venue – for the chance to gorge (visually, rather than literally) on the decadent history of the Royal wedding cake. Born of the research of Professor Roland […]

Bang in the middle of Aldwych in London’s theatre land comes the new Good Godfrey’s bar & lounge taking its name from Howard Godfrey, the celebrity bandleader of the ‘Waldorfians’, the Waldorf house band in the 1920’s. An Artisan Easter

We’re not sure whether we should eat these or display them on the mantelpiece but this year’s Easter collection from Artisan du chocolat is almost worthy of a spot at the Tate Modern.     We’re loving the pretty peony designed Wrapped Up egg filled with a selection of liquid sea salted caramels, the colourful red and blue Speckled Eggs in layered dark or white chocolate and the limited edition Ceramic Egg – imprinted with an illustration of a growing cocoa pod. Chocolate bunnies spray painted in candy hues with edible ink will certainly give Lindt’s golden rabbit a run […]
