NOPI

Yotam Ottolenghi has done it again and opened a brand new restaurant called NOPI. Just launched in Soho – north of Piccadilly Circus hence the name – and although we’re not sure if it will catch on as a London district like NoHo – it’s a little bit clever, no? This is Mr O’s first serious foray into proper sit down all day dining but while you may miss the brightly coloured deli counter and pink meringue window displays at first you’re unlikely to be disappointed for long. Cuisine is Mediterranean meets Middle Eastern with a spinkling of Asian seasoning […]

Home to innovative student designers, major corporate sponsors and a raucous after-party, the event is raising valuable funds for UK cancer support charity Trekstock.   The show, now in its nineteenth year, continues to push boundaries with its marketing and branding around the small Scottish town in which it is based – this year has seen the launch of a pop-up shop in St Andrews selling a huge range of Trekstock merchandise, much of which is designed in collaboration […]

London Street Photography

Anyone who has frequented Somerset House this week will know all too well how street photography has become an integral part of the fashion world – SLRs cameras are quite the modern accessory. Although  made infamous by blogs such as The Sartorialist and Face Hunter, the Museum of London is going back to the real roots of this phenomenon and exhibiting the earliest days of street paps. The first hand-held Kodak cameras were released around 1860, at a time when London as a city was sprawling and expanding at an astounding rate. As industry exploded, photographers took it upon themselves […]

Chanel Makeup Spring Collection 2011

Pearls were an emblematic staple for the flawless fashion icon Coco Chanel so it seems fitting that Peter Philips, Global Creative Director of Chanel Makeup, has used mother-of-pearl as his main inspiration for the new spring cosmetic collection. Pearls have a unique way of awakening the eye or face while at the same maintaining naturalism.  The Powder Blush, for example, manages to give a glowing lift to the face, while at the same time leaving no trace of obvious or unsubtle colour.  The mixture of hues within Pearl, mean that the powder is able to manipulate the result of your […]
