Let Them Eat Cake!

With all eyes on the dress, it was perhaps unlikely that the starring feature of this weekend’s wedding would be the cake – although many were intrigued and delighted by William’s McVitie’s-based request. Charles and Diana made quite a show of their desserts, with a whopping 27 varieties, so it’s fair to say that wedding cakes run strong in the Windsor household. Step right up to Wellington Arch this weekend – an unsuspecting venue – for the chance to gorge (visually, rather than literally) on the decadent history of the Royal wedding cake. Born of the research of Professor Roland […]

An Artisan Easter

We’re not sure whether we should eat these or display them on the mantelpiece but this year’s Easter collection from Artisan du chocolat is almost worthy of a spot at the Tate Modern.     We’re loving the pretty peony designed Wrapped Up egg filled with a selection of liquid sea salted caramels, the colourful red and blue Speckled Eggs in layered dark or white chocolate and the limited edition Ceramic Egg – imprinted with an illustration of a growing cocoa pod. Chocolate bunnies spray painted in candy hues with edible ink will certainly give Lindt’s golden rabbit a run […]

Dorsia

South Kensington’s much loved Firehouse bar, restaurant and club has recently been taken over LVMH style and is due to relaunch as Dorsia on 25 May following a massive £2.4million refurbishment. The 300 capacity venue will comprise a members’ club, bar and restaurant and while it’s still under construction, the space promises […]
