Wanted

As it says in his bio on his website, Max Wiedemann is ‘an artist that has never seen the inside of an Art Academy.’ And I am sure there are a few art academies around that are wishing he had been one of their graduates. Wiedemann is a graffiti artist who is quickly making an impressive name for himself not only here in London but also in The States.  He was recently mentioned on the popular Perez Hilton site for his paintings. His work focuses on societies deepening relationship with pop culture, media and consumerism and our ever growing […]

The East End has been monopolizing our club scene for too long and a sea of new autumn openings proves that when it comes to glamour, West is definitely best. It’s been taken over by airline mogul Tony Fernandes, Gumball Rally entrepreneur Jonny Dodge and Supper Club owner Alberto Barbieri and promises a sophisticated yet technically advanced […]

Getting Loaded in the Park

Life is a Cabaret

Multi-tasking is where it’s at folks. With i-phones doubling up as all singing all dancing entertainment centres housing everything from our social diaries to music collections, it stands to sense that our choice of night life venue should also tick all the boxes that constitute a great evening. Located in the historic Old Truman Brewery on hip Brick Lane, The Brickhouse lies on the original site of the street's old music hall – a serendipitous home as the venue recaptures the spirit of the original 1930's supper clubs while remaining on the cutting edge of East London cool. V Festival Celeb Gossip Hotline

Oasis-smasis … the Chelmsford crowd reckoned MGMT’s version of Wonderwall complete with cardboard cut-out of Liam (well he’s a bit of a cartoon rockstar anyways) was just as good as the real thing and less lightly to lamp you if you give him a funny look. It was gossip central on and off stage on the Essex leg of V Festival.  Having made a ‘completely unorchestrated surprise appearance’ with The Specials on the main V Music stage, the Wino made a comeback later in the Virgin Union tent. With a good eight hours extra drinking time under her skinny belt, […]

Gisele Ganne

Freshly out of The Royal College of Art, Gisele Ganne is already dazzling the macrocosm of the jewellery world.  Her Oxymoronic style unites the macabre and the beautiful and in her first collection, her pieces are inspired by Victorian mourning jewellery.  Gisele explains,”Mourning is not just about dead people; it is also about dead relationships and decaying marriages and the divorce jewellery refers to old and contemporary wedding customs.”  Yet, before you’re put off by the sombre style, it is the paradox in Ganne’s work that makes it stand out.  Along with a slightly grave undertone, her jewellery is vibrant, abundant in bright colours and […]
