No Love Lost

Last week saw the opening of new London exhibition No Love Lost at Eleven Fine Art gallery. What sets it aside is that this collaboration is by two women: both sisters to siblings, also in the spotlight, both talented with an edge. Daisy de Villeneuve and Natasha Law, sister to heartthrob actor Jude Law, first locked eyes at the V&A museum when mutual friend, society photographer, Merry Brownfield sauntered over and introduced the pair right at the end of the party. After this chance meeting Daisy made the first move and asked Natasha if she would like to join a […]

News of a delightful union between Brit actress-turned swimwear designer Elizabeth Hurley and Prince Charles’s company Duchy Originals has come our way. Hurley will produce the line of meat and grain goods at her 400-acre Ampney Knowle farm in the west of the country – the idea behind this venture is ‘modern, healthy, […]

Techno Tricks

Remember the Prada robot tags of yore? The iconic brand has reinvented the concept to bring us the Prada Techno Tricks, which embrace not only the recycling concerns of modern society but also the frivolous fun we are now more inclined to buy into, given the tragic financial status. Bags are an investment, bag charms are for kicks. The hand-crafted pieces are embellished with small metal parts that come straight from the workbenches of the atelier. The head is made of Plexiglass, with mother-of-pearl print, and the eyes are two star head screws, while the body is covered in saffian […]

Michelle Obama arrives in London

America’s First Lady is in town and has already created a stir with her fashion choices. Michelle Obama arrived at Standstead airport with her husband dressed in a summery yellow dress designed by Jason Wu, who also put pen to paper to design Obama’s inauguration gown. The President’s wife has always favoured minority designers and shows her support by wearing their designs rather than opting to wear garments from other more obvious fashion houses such as Dior or Chanel. Wu said of Obama’s choice from his collection on GMTV this morning: ‘I love the way she has styled it; with […]
