The Lego Bar Is Now Taking Bookings!

Remember how we reported that there’s a Lego bar coming to town? Well good to their word, it looks like this is actually happening as they’re now taking bookings for the three-night-only Shoreditch pop-up! The concept was pretty simple, it’s a bar but everything is made out of Lego (or, to avoid a hefty lawsuit, they’re saying ‘bricks’ – but we all know they mean Lego). Previously billed to open last spring, the date’s been bumped to April 2019. The pop-up will be made from over a million Lego bricks, plus there’ll be Lego to play with, Lego sculptures, Lego […]

Real Life Mario Kart Arrives In London

Who’s your motor racing hero? Lewis Hamilton? James Hunt? Senna? Well if your answer, like mine, is Mario, Luigi or Donkey Kong then you’ve come to the right place! Nintendo’s incredibly popular video game franchise has been brought to life and is coming to London. Fending off a potential patent dispute, it’s officially called Mushroom Rally, and it looks flipping awesome. Participants dress up in costumes incredibly similar (they’re near-identical but officially they’re just ‘similar’, coz lawyers) to Super Mario characters and whizz around on go-karts avoiding tortoise shells, banana skins and what-not as they go to be the champion of […]

Where To Veg Out This World Vegetarian Month

Poor vegetarians, for so long they’ve been the dinner party martyrs, saving the planet one dolphin at a time. But recently they’ve been outshone by an army of vegans so much more committed to Mother Earth that all the veggies must be hating their herbivorous selves while they poach another egg. Well October should be re-setting the balance a little, yes the vegans might get ‘Veganuary’, but now the vegetarians can claim October as their own with the slightly less snappy Vegetarian Awareness Month. Double points if you’re also sober Octobering, but either way, here are the places you should […]

Five Reasons You Need to Book This Michelin-Starred Brunch

Award-winning Michelin-starred restaurant Galvin at Windows has recently launched a brunch menu and of course being the brunch fans that we are, we needed no excuse to head to the 28th floor of the London Hilton on Park Lane to take on the menu. It’s Their First The Saturday brunch menu launched this September, some twelve years after the restaurant first opened and it may come as a surprise, as brunch is a staple of Londoners’ weekends, but this is Galvin at Windows’ first brunch. Rather than jumping on the band wagon, Head Chef Joo Won and his team took […]

The Lucky Voice Hangover Club Is Here To Save You This Christmas

Feeling a little worse for wear after your Christmas party? Is the thought of another night out making you feel a little weepy? Fear not, because Lucky Voice has come up with a genius idea, the Christmas Party Hangover Club, which is essentially a night in, but out. Rather than stay in, going over and over how you drunk called your ex about ten times before blocking them in the hope they might not noticed, get your friends together and head to Lucky Voice where you can cosy down under a blanket for an evening of pizza and Christmas films. […]

What to do This Weekend

From Hip Hop Karaoke To Fanny’s Kebabs, How To While Away The Weekend: 12th – 14th October

Look guys, it happened again… IT’S THE WEEKEND!! Well, very nearly. It may only be Thursday (spare a thought for me, I’m writing this only on ‘hump day’ Wednesday), but we’re already at Friday 6pm in our minds. So here’s all the stuff we can get up to! Cadbury Roses Pop-Up Which is your fave Roses chocolate? Emily in the office favours a hazelnut whirl, Lottie’s more of a strawberry fondant girl. Charlotte’s getting mixed up with Quality Streets. A mistake that would go down very badly at this particular pop-up, Cadbury are launching a special Roses flower shop. The FREE […]

Vegans Get The Michelin Star Treatment

What: Getting into the spirit of World Vegan Month in November is Michelin-awarded Chef Shaun Rankin at Ormer Mayfair; now while a chef famed for his seafood restaurant might not be the obvious person to create a vegan menu his plant-based offering is certainly one to take note of. New? Looking at the a la carte menu which doesn’t even have a single vegetarian main you might be surprised to hear that the vegan dishes have been low-key available for a while on request, this is the first time they’ve been organised into their own menu though. First Impression: This […]

Best Of Basque: London Basque Restos

While I don’t reckon I’d look good in a basque, I’m definitely keen to get into a Basque. And, thankfully, London is awash with great Basque restaurants, so it isn’t that hard. The Basque region of Spain (or not of Spain, depending on your politics) is awash with amazing tastes and flavours. Here is the best of Basque… Donostia Taking its name from the city San Sebastian in North West Spain, Donostia is a real Basque affair. The Basque pintxos & tapas in Marylebone serves its eclectic range of dishes under the supervision of some seriously top-notch chefs using a range of […]

Royal Wedding Special: Remind Me Who Actually IS Princess Eugenie?

Unlike when Kate and Wills, or Megan and Harry tied the knot, Princess Eugenie’s wedding day has been somewhat less of a royal hoo-ha; which is a breath of fresh heir if you ask us! However if you do like a good old royal wedding, you’ll be eager to learn that this Friday (12th) marks the big day as the Queen’s granddaughter weds Jack Brooksbank. So to royally flush you out, we thought we’d tell you some facts about Princess Eugenie, probably needed seeing as a Google of her name continuously conjures up images of her and her sister Beatrice, but […]

Press To Get Pisco-ed at Flesh & Buns

What? Ross Shonhan, founder of the Bone Daddies Group (Bone Daddies, Flesh & Bun and Shack Fuyu) has just opened his second izakaya and this time they are exploring Nikkei Peruvian cuisine. Most excitingly they have taken a leaf out of Bob Bob Ricard’s book and have a button which once pressed summons over alcohol, although unlike the Soho restaurant which brings over Champagne, here once the button is pushed, a pisco trolley arrives. New? Yes, it launched at the end of September and arrives five years after Flesh & Buns first opened in Covent Garden. On the Menu: Inspired […]
