Hans’ Bar & Grill Opens in Chelsea

Hans Sloane, the man who was credited for bringing cocoa and hot chocolate to the UK will be lending his name to the new restaurant opening on the Pavilion Road, from the team behind Chewton Glen, Lygon Arms, Cliveden House and 11 Cadogan Gardens. A few minutes from both Sloane Square and Hans Place Garden (they really did like using his name, the restaurant will be serving up an all-day seasonal menu making the most of British produce and heading up the kitchen will be Adam England (Le Pont de la Tour). Start the day with the likes of eggs […]

Journey Back to the 19th Century on The Murdér Express!

This week a new train, The Murdér Express, will be pulling out of London, making a voyage from Pedley Street Station to Murdér in France and there’s a ticket with your name on it. Championing the golden age of travel when people took train journeys for pleasure, fares probably weren’t so hideous you need to try and get your hands on a rare railcard and they served more than just lukewarm tea and chocolate, The Murdér Express is an immersive experience which will transport you back to the 19th century. Visit the Seven Sins Bar as your luggage is packed […]

Two’s Company as Jones & Sons Open Second Restaurant

The last day of the week is for Spotify’s sweet soul Sunday playlist and a good old roast, otherwise is it really Sunday? Luckily, for those amongst us who lounge out with a blanket all day before sauntering to our prime Sunday lunch location, you’ll be pleased to hear that Jones & Sons have mastered the Yorkshire pud and all the trimmings dish to a T, and have now opened a second restaurant to boot. Five nail-biting years have gone by with the Jones & Sons lovers amongst us lying in wait for owner Andy Jones to open a second […]

The Spa Day That’s Strictly For Men

This one is for all the men out there. Ever noticed that spa days are, well, a little bit girly? Fluffy packages aimed at girls who’ve just broken up with their boyfriends or girls celebrating a birthday, or girls celebrating an anniversary or girls being treated by their new boyfriend. What us men need is girthy, not girly. Which is where Four Seasons Trinity Square come in. The city-based hotel has just launched a their Men’s Urban Retreat package aimed at ‘men on the go’ and it looks like the days of gossiping to therapists about divorce proceedings are over. […]

Have You Discovered These Hidden Bars Yet?

Londoners love being clued-up. From knowing exactly where to stand on the underground platform for the doors to magically open in front of you, to nifty routes around Soho or just understanding that M&M world simply isn’t worth visiting. But the best hidden secrets are the bars that the tourists don’t know about, often squirrelled away below ground or on rooftops. Here are a few of our favourites…

Hurrah for Henrietta: New Bistro to Launch at Henrietta Hotel

Never mind had me at hello, The Henrietta Hotel had me at 1am late-license because, correct me if I’m wrong, but when cocktails are on the cards, the later the venue closure, the absolute better. The boutique Covent Garden townhouse will open a new bistro next month named Henrietta Bistro, and with newness being the theme, a brand-new chef will also be on hand to rustle up the dishes. Head chef Sylvain Roucayrol joins from sister site Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels, replacing Ollie Dabbous. Meanwhile, Dabbous is doing what chefs at the top of their culinary game do best and […]

Outdoor Ogling: Rooftop Film Club Releases its Summer Screenings

It might just be me, but whenever the words outdoor and cinema are mentioned in the same sentence, my mind drifts to the iconic Danny and Sandy scene from Grease. Danny, as the inventor of cinema favourite “the move” looks as sheepish as ever as he puts his hand around her shoulder, all the while Sandy looks somewhat unimpressed. It’s a classic – much like the films which can be popcorn-indulged at, as Rooftop Film Club releases its next batch of Summer screenings. For those who struggle to spare a second for cinema antics, and whose last flick outing was […]

The Puppy Pool Party Brunch That’s Too Cute To Miss

With the mercury creeping up the dial it’s all the rage to head down to the local lido. Hampstead Ponds are basically one lithe, seething mass of humanity right now. But, not so great if you’re a dog. Sat there in a literal fur coat, banned from the fun, man’s best friend has good reason to feel distinctly unloved in the summer months. Unless you take them to M Restaurants. M Victoria is hosting a special pool party for dogs (and their owners) at their subterranean restaurant on Victoria Street featuring a pool, a celebrity artist and a ‘cook for […]

La Mia Mamma: The Chelsea Restaurant set to Champion Tradition

If we were to tell you that new restaurant La Mia Mamma, set to open in Chelsea, imported a different Italian “Mamma” each season from a different region, you’d probably think we were joking, right? Wrong. La Mia Mamma keeps to its word when it says it’s going to deliver dishes true to Italian culture and tradition. La Mia Mamma will ring out Italian tradition as strongly as if you picked up the “it’s your Dolmio day” family straight from the advert and placed them in a restaurant. Whilst some of us may think of bangers and mash or smiley potato […]

We Review: Broadleaf

What? It’s not that I’m against sports, just that I find them impenetrable. It’s up there with Game of Thrones, I’m sure I’d love it if I’d been there at the start, but now it’s too complicated to try and get involved. Also, people crowing ‘We beat Man-U last night’ has been one of my bugbears since childhood, no ‘you’ didn’t, a bunch of foreign millionaires who play for a team in a place you’ve only got a tenuous claim over kicked a ball around for 90 minutes. So the thought of a sports bar, full of rugby shirts and […]
