We Review: by CHLOE London

What: Super popular, American, fast food, vegan restaurant (a mouthful I know), by CHLOE, has landed in London! It’s worth noting (for me) that ‘by CHLOE’ is the correct name and not an ongoing grammar mistake. New? by CHLOE is brand spanking new, it opened at the beginning of February in Covent Garden which made it the first international restaurant for the group who has 8 others in USA. Where? 34-43 Russell Street, Covent Garden WC2B 5HA www.eatbychloe.com On the menu: The menu is a mix up of all the best comfort foods you can think from fish and chips to […]

The World’s Top 10 Hottest Hot Tubs

There is something uniquely indulgent about a hot tub, it literally bubbles with decadence. It’s also perfectly suited to almost every weather; if it’s snowing: jump in a hot tub, if it’s 40 degrees: jump in a hot tub, if it’s thunder and lightening: actually maybe don’t jump in a hot tub. But you get the idea. Here are a selection of some of the world’s best hotel hot tubs…   &Beyond Phinda Rock Lodge What: More like Rourke’s adrift Why: Set above a stunning vista across South Africa’s Zululand &Beyond’s Phinda Rock Lodge is built into the actual cliff-face. A Dinner Party With Your Favourite Chef

What were your highlights of 2017? We’re guessing it wasn’t the Trump inauguration, the signing of Article 50 or election of Emmanuel Macron. But hopefully you had Mark Hix’s Tales From The Kitchen Library hovering somewhere near the top of your list. However, if you were unlucky enough to miss it, then fear not, it’s back. The format for the series of kitchen collaborations is to put some of the nation’s leading chefs in a kitchen together with chef and restauranteur Mark Hix, enjoy stories of their lives and gorge on a five-course menu, all in the intimate setting of […]

Feeling The Cold? These Places With Fireplaces Will Warm You Up!

Brrrrrrrr, right? Our ancestors were out battling wooly mammoths in worse conditions than this, and yet here we are, cowering under a duvet and clutching a hot water bottle. But taking a leaf out of our caveman predecessors’ book (or thumb painting or whatever the correct analogy would be), what we really crave right now is ‘man’s red fire’. So unleash your inner neanderthal and head to one of these restaurants with open fires, though full disclosure: we can’t guarantee they’ll be serving mammoth…

There’s a Fairytale Brunch Coming to London

As a child, I didn’t expect to appreciate cartoons and fairytales at the age of 27 just as much as I did when I was five. Perhaps even more so, now that I fully understand all the little quips that went over my innocent head. And don’t get me started on conspiracy theories or how each film is linked… hours have been wasted on that. As a child I also thought I’d never appreciate alcohol, but some things change. Before I digress (further), why am I telling you this? Because there is a fairytale bottomless brunch coming to London. Bringing […]

Vegan Kebab Restaurant Opens in Camden

Another day, another vegan announcement (if you missed yesterday’s you can check it out here) today we’re letting you know that What the Pitta, the UK’s first vegan doner kebab stall is opening their third and flagship branch in Camden on the 9th March. Realising the benefits of a plant-based diet but missing the grilled flavours of Turkish foods, vegan Cem Yildiz, joined forces with friend, Rojdan Gul, whose uncle had been making cult vegan kebabs in Germany for years. The result was What the Pitta and a pop-up in 2016 at The Pump in Shoreditch. The kebabs are made […]

There’s a New Gin Festival Coming to London

Wandsworth: home to The Handbook HQ, but more importantly (and there aren’t many things that are more important than us), home to a new gin festival from the guys at The Gin Society.
