Christmas Gin Lodge Opens at Rosewood London

Christmas comes early in Germany with St Nikolaus arriving in town on December 6th, and this year he’s clearly made a detour via Rosewood London with a vat of German gin. Rosewood London will be hosting their winter gin lodge, a mystical cabin in an enchanting forest and set within the hotel’s courtyard. Offering the perfect escape from the Christmas crowds the gin lodge will serve Monkey 47 Gin in hot and cold cocktails, all inspired by German desserts. Monkey 47 is a Black Forest gin with British roots, having been developed by British Wing Commander Montgommery “Monty” Collins who […]

We Review Rabbit

What? Occupying a rather enviable space, half way down the Kings Road, Rabbit is the second restaurant from the Gladwin Brothers (Richard, Oliver and Gregory). Following on from The Shed in Notting Hill, Rabbit continues the guy’s foraged, seasonal approach to cooking. They’re bringing a taste of the countryside back to London, for all those who have swapped fields for finance and Barbours for brief cases, although you don’t see many of these in 2017, let’s bring them back I say. New? Nope, the second restaurant from the Gladwin Brothers, Rabbit opened back at the tail end of 2014. Where? […]

We Review: M Restaurant, Victoria

What? “Ah, meester Bond, I’ve been expecting you. Here’s your table, I’ll get you a menu”. Okay, so it’s not quite Dr No, but there’s something distinctly Bond-Villain-Lair about M Restaurant on Victoria Street, a hidden subterranean hideaway beneath the mysterious ‘Zig Zag Building”. But is it Stromberg’s Atlantis or just a Zorin’s Blimp? Where? The restaurant is based in the strikingly isometric Zig Zag on Victoria Street, a building that wouldn’t be out of place on a Bond movie location scout’s long-list, though the activities within are that other face of world domination, mainly hedge funds. The Look: It’s all very Tinker, […]

There’s a Rooftop Cheese Pop-Up Coming

We don’t want to alarm you, or get you overly excited but we have some big news – it involves cheese, it involves the weekend and it involves a rooftop; three of our favourite things. Next Thursday, Brixton Rooftop’s South Pole Saloon is transforming into Cheese Town for three days. That’s three days of baked brie, melting mozzarella and comforting camembert, who doesn’t love a bit of alliteration? Actually, talking about camembert, Mac to the Future will be launching their new Camembert Mac, a mac n cheese dish served in an entire backed camembert, if you’re going to be indulgent […]

Jasmine Indian Afternoon Tea at Taj 51 Buckingham Gate

What: When Anna Russell first had a hankering for a mid-afternoon snack we bet that she never thought that her creation of afternoon tea would be reinvented with spicy Indian flavours, but that’s exactly what’s happened. Culinary visionary, Taj 51 Buckingham Gate, has created the Jasmine Indian afternoon tea and we went to see if we thought it was worthy of the Duchess’ approval. New? The tea launched at the start of October but ever the multitaskers Taj 51 has several afternoon teas on the go including a Sherlock Holmes themed one and Alice in Wonderland tea.
