Greyhound on the Test Restaurant Review

Head chef at the Greyhound on the Test, Alan Haughie, learned his craft as an apprentice under Anton Edelman at the Savoy from 2002-2004 and went on to continue working with him at the Brasserie St Quentin, by Harrods on Brompton Road. After a brief stint abroad he returned to London before finding his calling in Stockbridge, serving great British food from locally produced sources. We happily settled into the cosy and romantically lit restaurant in the Greyhound on the Test, enjoying the rustic surroundings before getting on with ordering our food. The starter of Gazpacho, a dish purposefully served […]

Maple and Fitz

The sun is starting to shine, people are eating lunch outside and we even saw a man wearing shorts earlier, this might be a bit ambitious but spring is definitely on the way. And we’re starting to ditch our winter diets of carbs on carbs. So lucky for us then that the super-healthy Maple and Fitz has recently launched in Fitzrovia. Launched by the Le Cordon Bleu London- trained Canadian chef Adria Wu (who has also trained in nutrition), Maple and Fitz is apparently Fitzrovia’s first cold-pressed juice bar.  The juices have been created with different benefits in mind – […]

This weekend pays homage to Awards Season where award winning blockbusters are screened in cinematic style at Altitude in Milbank Tower. Prepare to feel like an A-list celeb as the red […]

Gin and Jam Afternoon Tea

If there are two things that London loves then it is afternoon tea and gin, so chances are if you pair them then you are going to be on to a real winner. And it just so happens that Hush in Mayfair are launching their Gin and Jam Tea this weekend – so if you’re fan of tea, gin or need a Mother’s Day present then read on. If you didn’t know Hush has its own brand of gin (fancy eh?) exclusively created by Hush’s own Bar Director, Pedro Solorzano and they’ve curated cocktails that reflect the more unusual flavours […]

The Woodstock: London’s First Japanese Izakaya

Think of a type of restaurant and London probably has it, however obscure. You want cereal? Then it’s Cereal Killer. Want animals? That’s Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium. Apparently what we don’t have is a properly authentic Japanese Izakaya,  well as of 12th March that is to change as London welcomes the first one, The Woodstock. Based on the pubs in Japan which are a pit-stop between work and home (literally translated Izakaya means ‘stay sake shop’) The Woodstock, which is just off Oxford Street, will focus on casual drinking and freshly grilled skewers. And boy do they have a lot […]
