Madison Occupying the roof terrace of One New Change in the slick surrounds of the city, you’ll find Madison. This bar is both panoramic and guys in suits central, so if you’ve got a penchant […]

Ember Yard Kitchen Takeover

There’s a new restaurant trend happening around London that we are particularly excited about– the kitchen takeover. After the success of James Cornwall’s recent takeover at Opera Tavern, The Salt Yard Group has invited London’s next hot chef, Selin Kiazim, to its Ember Yard restaurant on the 4th of August. Chef Kiazim's background in Turkish and Middle Eastern style cuisine compliments that of Ember Yard, with an emphasis on cooking over a charcoal grill to create complex smokey flavors.  Anticipated dishes include Şeftali kebab-spiced lamb crepinette with lemon and lavash; chicken livers with cumin, rosemary and date butter on toast; Baharat […]

Bob Bob Ricard

Soho’s Bob Bob Ricard has undergone a three million pound investment in the shape of brand new and thoroughly decadent dining space, the 74-seater, evening only Club Room on the lower ground floor which promises ‘lively dining, music and Champagne’. Faithful to the original David Collins design, the space features those famous luxury booths tiered around a small atrium with mahogany-inlaid backgammon floor, red-and-gold leather banquettes, burgundy marble tables, bespoke Ikat wallpaper and hand crafted copper metalwork. And especially for Champagne fans, every table still has that notorious “Press for Champagne” button. No expense has been spared in the acoustics […]

Plum and Spilt Milk: Review

It was Saturday morning, London was that horrible sort of hot, muggy temperature where the tube is a living nightmare and you lose inches just sweating your way through the crowds. For once we craved light foods rather than the usual carb heavy diet and finding ourselves in need of something to fuel our productive day of lying in Green Park, we headed to Plum and Spilt Milk, located inside the Great Northern Hotel, having heard they recently launched a new healthy breakfast menu. Inside it is beautifully elegant, dark blue walls, wooden panelling, high ceilings, hanging lights and simple […]

Arabica: Review

The Arabica Spice Company has been around for 14 years, their restaurant in Borough Market had only been opened in a week when we went down to visit and despite no reviews having been published at that time, it was already packed on a Monday. So far so good. The restaurant features a mix of simple wooden tables or turquoise leather booths, exposed brick walls, arched ceilings, low lighting and they can open up the front which in this heat is life-saving. As the website says the restaurant is an ‘epicurean exploration’ of The Levant, and the menu which is […]
