Cheese and Wine at The InterContinental

Is there any greater pleasure than wine and cheese? We don’t think so. So if you’re a bit of an aficionado grab your likeminded friends (we are sure you’ll find many willing participants) and head over to InterContinental London Park Lane for the new Italian cheese and wine pairings on the menu.    Curated by Head Sommelier Yuri Gualeni, the board will take form as a journey around Italy featuring four carefully selected Italian wines with regional cheeses. Starting the tour in the North and moving on to the stronger stuff in the South the selection will start with a mild goat […]

Poppies Camden: Review

Having been nominated for the National Fish and Chips award in 2013 and with its sister restaurant in Spitalfields having won the award this year, we weren’t going to say no to going to Poppies in Camden. So we said goodbye to leafy Fulham and trekked across London in search of the best fish and chips this city has to offer, now I have to mention before we go any further, I adore fish and chips – they would be my choice when it came to my last meal – if I was told I could only eat one thing […]

Head Chef Matthew Harris celebrates 20 years at Bibendum

This April, the Bibendum veteran and protege of founding partner Simon Hopkinson, Matthew Harris will celebrate his twentieth year holding the position of head chef at the restaurant.  Cooking since its opening back in 1987 and taking over the kitchen in 1995 he brought a contemporary flair to the menu that has remained to this day. Mother’s Day 1

We all know we need to say thank you to our mothers more often; they have looked after us when we were scared of the dark, they've cooked us endless fish fingers, wiped away tears, confiscated dreadful eyeshadow (in hindsight, thank goodness), stopped us from leaving the house in sartorial disasters and been there for us more times than we can remember – so with Mother's Day just around the corner, it is time to get planning and say thank you properly. Here are some of the best events happening in London.  34 With their popularity soaring over the last […]

Bianco43 Review

The pizzeria, Bianco43, have recently opened their third venue in Trafalgar Square, serving Italian cuisine. The venue is a stone’s throw from Charing Cross station and is located in an elegant building with views of the Trafalgar Square monuments. The main dishes comprise mostly of pizza and pasta dishes with a few meat-focussed dishes like Sword Fish Steak, Chicken Breast Fillet and Mixed Seafood Grill. I opted for the Ravioli in the butter and sage sauce but it was unavailable so I went with the Gnocchi with the same sauce instead. It wasn’t unpleasant but definitely lacked any flavour; the […]
