Aamir Ahmad, Sean Galligan and David Garrett, co-founders of contemporary furniture retailer Dwell, are launching Indian restaurant Zumbura in Clapham on 6 November. The 45-cover venue will showcase the traditional cuisine of the Purab region of North India and the menu will feature a range of unusual home-style dishes. Head chef is Raju Rawat (Benares, Cinnamon Club, Bombay Bicycle Club, Moolis) whose focus will be on delivering fresh, aromatic, healthy and light dishes. VQ, the 24 hour café & diner that started life in Chelsea some 18 years ago is opening  a new restaurant in Great Russell Street tomorrow.  With a 45ft glass frontage and 120 covers, it’s a totally self-contained space on the ground floor of the 720 bedroom St Giles Hotel. Important news: there is a new afternoon tea in town.  Last week saw the launch of Aqua’s afternoon tea, which gives the English tradition even more of a British feel. There’s a new members only nightclub in town, launching this week in Argyll Street, amidst the vaults of The London Palladium. Team behind the new venture are Marc Merran, Eamonn Mulholland and Jean Philippe Kley. The name Mason House dates back to 1737, when the majority of residents on Argyll Street were Masons and the owners wanted to create a space that resembles a Masonic Temple. The Bibendum Oyster Bar reopens in the ground floor of Michelin House on Monday 4 November following a redesign by founding partner Sir Terence Conran and Richard Doone of Paramount Architects and there’s a brand new all-day menu and breakfast menu too. Architect Zaha Hadid’s first designed restaurant space in central London opens this Friday 1 November at the new Serpentine Sackler Gallery in Kensington Gardens. The venue is operated by K&K London Ltd with head chef, Oliver Lange, a past guest chef for Kofler & Kompanie’s Pret A Diner events in London.
