New addition to Hoxton Square is Red Dog American Sandwiches, an east London take on the American sub. Brains behind the venture is Tom Brookes, a pioneer of the gourmet, fast food scene, having opened American burger joint Red Dog Saloon back in 2011. The menu features fifteen hot and cold subs, four dogs plus sides, salads and desserts and both soft drinks and hard liquor. Olympic Studios, the famous London recording studios that once played host to music legends from Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones to Madonna, opens to the public today in its new guise as a Cinema, Private Members’ Club and Café and Dining Room. This Autumn, the V&A has collaborated with Ping Pong to create a selection of cocktails to celebrate the opening of the Masterpieces of Chinese Painting 700-1900 exhibition, which is due to launch at the V&A in late October. Jerez has arrived in Fitzrovia today in the shape of Drakes Tabanco, traditional sherry tavern from the team behind Copita and Barrica. Sherry will be served straight from the barrel alongside natural wines, artisan beer and an Andalusian-inspired menu.
