Blinis, Bellinis and Espresso Martinis at The Tower of London

Steeped in history, the Tower of London, is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks and is home to Crown Jewels. And now there is something else very special about it too, Moving Venue is now one of the approved caterers for bespoke and corporate events.  The Handbook were lucky enough to go down and have a private viewing of the Crown Jewels before being able to try ‘blinis, bellinis and espresso martinis’ courtesy of Moving Venue. The jewel in the crown, excuse the pun, had to be the revolving bar (very dangerous for self discipline) where the bellinis and […]

Raymond Blanc takes on 21 apprentices

Raymond Blanc, the Michelin-starred chef renowned for his mentoring of young people, has now joined forces with Boris Johnson, mayor of London. This pairing may seem unlikely, but it’s all in the name of progress – the pair are encouraging the capital’s food venues to take on more young apprentices! Raymond himself has taken on an incredible 21 apprentices at his Brasserie Blanc restaurants, and both he and the Mayor believe there is huge potential for the scheme if other restaurants follow in his footsteps. The self-taught chef wants it to be easier for young ambitious people – he said […]

Hootan Ahmadi who put himself through medical school running nights at Boujis, Purple and Kensington Roof Gardens. Celebrating Noodles at Suda Thai

March means Noodle Month at Suda Thai Restaurant in Covent Garden. Last night The Handbook paid a visit to the venue tucked away in St Martin’s Courtyard, to attend a special event to celebrate noodles! A small gathering of only around twenty people, we were treated to cooking displays by an adorable and talented Thai chef called Saipin Lee, who is also the Regional Manager of S&P Restaurants, and coincidentally was named in the 2011 'Women 1st Top 100 Most Influential Women'! Saipan gave us a great show, telling us all about the noodle dishes and ingredients, and after each […]
