Fortnum & Mason is flexing its Royal Warrant muscles and celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee by decorating that famous Piccadilly facade from the pavement up. The tradition has its roots back in 1836 when the building was illuminated in stars made from lit jets of gas to celebrate the wedding of the future Edward VII.
