Amid recent speculation that its chief executive and its chairman are set to quit, Paramount Restaurants which operates, among others, the Chez Gérard chain, is expected to be put up for sale with property agent, Christie + Co. The Times newspaper has reported that Sir David Michels, non-executive chairman (also deputy chairman of Marks & Spencer) and Mark Phillips, chief executive, are planning to resign their positions over differences in operational strategy with the controlling banks – to which the company still stands some £70 million in debt. Robert Cook Hotel Expansion

Robert Cook, chief executive of Malmaison and Hotel du Vin, is thought to be resuming the expansion of the two boutique hotel brands after 18 months of consolidation.
