Farmacy’s Plant-Based Afternoon Tea

The vegan and vegetarian take-over is one step closer to victory as Farmacy launches a plant-based afternoon tea to coincide with National Afternoon Tea Week (14-20 August). This unique tea will begin with a pot of hemp leaf tea on arrival (or any other tea infusions that takes your fancy) before enjoying the three -tier tea. Sticking with the classic savoury then sweet layout the tea begins with the likes of raw quiche filled with organic spinach ‘cream’ topped with pickled fig, and jackfruit and pickled chilli tacos. The sweeter section will have Farmacy’s strawberry and cashew mousse, lemon ‘meringue’ […]

Evans & Peel Pharmacy: A Top Secret Bar

It’s unlikely you’ve ever been to a pharmacy for fun, (we say unlikely because we’re not going to judge), no your usual trips probably involve prescriptions and mystery rashes. That was until now. Five years ago, a bar opened up in Earls Court masquerading as detective agency, those in the know, knew that to gain access they just had to explain their case to the detective, well now Evans & Peel are dabbling in pharmaceuticals as the Evans & Peel Pharmacy opens in Chiswick. Upon entering the 1920’s pharmacy, you’ll meet the legendary pharmacist, before making your way to the […]

by CHLOE. NYC’s Coolest Vegan Restaurant Opens in London

by CHLOE. – it’s got one of those names, hasn’t it? The sort of name that you’ll see all over Instagram, a name that if you say, ‘I’m just going to get a salad from by CHLOE.’ your life is suddenly something off Pinterest, you probably went to HIIT at 6am and down ginger shots for fun. But we’re ok with that because by CHLOE. is the super successful US-based, plant-based, fast-casual restaurant and soon by CHLOE London will open in Covent Garden. Having opened in 2015 in the West Village, New York City, they’ve now gone on to open […]

World’s Best Bar Pop-Up at Claridge’s

You might not have heard of John Morrissey, 19th century boxer, politician and gang member. You’ve probably heard of his gang though, The Dead Rabbits. Yep, Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry’s award-wining New York bar, The Dead Rabbit, is named after a notorious, Irish street gang that controlled much of Lower Manhattan in the mid-19th century – apparently robbing and brawling was their thing. Enough of the history lesson, what you need to know is that the bar, that has won ‘World’s Best Bar’, is coming to Mayfair for one week in August. Opening in Claridge’s, The Dead Rabbit pop-up […]

10 Awesome August Pop-Ups

And just like that we’re in August already – this year is flying by and whilst it appears that our summer was fleeting and has now gone (why we say this like we’re surprised we don’t know) that isn’t going to stop us making the most of August by visiting the best pop-ups and supper clubs; which this month seems to include some rather obscure drinks – beer made from lobster anyone?

Fancy Crab Opens in Marylebone

Here’s a question? Do you think crabs look at us and think we walk sideways? Something to ponder on when you head to Fancy Crab, perhaps slightly morbidly as the crab will be on your plate. Having just opened on Wigmore Street, Fancy Crab is pretty self-explanatory…it’s crab and it’s fancy. The crab in question is Red King Crab, one of the most sought after in the world, always wild, never farmed, check out that for a line, ‘Hey, I’m Red King Crab, always wild, never farmed’. You know it’d be a cool crab. You’ll find the crab in crab […]

Island Poké Opens 2nd Restaurant

Island Poké; pronounced po-keh…and that’s no joke-ey, has just opened their second site in Broadgate Circle – and we’re all rather excited. The restaurant serves up bowls of Poké, and for those not in the know (although you really should because they’ve been everywhere…) they consist of raw cubes of fresh fish (or roasted beetroot for vegetarians) with a soy-based dressing, served in a bowl with steamed rice and tasty garnishes. Founder James Porter trained under an ex Nobu sushi chef and has created the menu at Island Poké which includes three house Poké bowls and a build your own […]

Hutong’s New Head Chef

If Madonna has taught us anything throughout the years it’s that change is good, whether it’s changing your hair, your look or your menu, and Hutong has heard the message loud and clear. The acclaimed Northern Chinese restaurant on Level 33 of The Shard has recently welcomed new head chef and Sifu (meaning ‘master’ in traditional Chinese culture, a term given to those who have earned a wealth of experience in a skilled trade) Fei Wang, who has some show stopping dishes up his sleeve. Hailing from Chengdu (the capital of China’s Sichuan province) Fei brings his wealth of experience […]
