Sardine: Fuss-Free French Dining

Food can be art and art can definitely be food (why else do we reach for our phones to capture beautifully presented plates?) so the announcement that Alex Jackson is choosing an art gallery annexe as the location for his first restaurant doesn’t seem that crazy. The Stevie Parle protégé and former Head Chef at Rotorino in Dalston is turning to the fields of Southern France as inspiration for Sardine. Inspired by the simplicity and seasonality of farmhouse cooking in Provence and Languedoc, Alex will be using authentic imported ingredients alongside quality British meat and fish at Sardine, a restaurant […]

Tomorrow is Thursday aka the unofficial start to the weekend and the perfect night to go out (why waste your Saturday on a hangover?) and if you’re in need of having your spirits lifted for whatever reason that might be then why not forget all about England and head to paradise, Jamaica to be exact. We’re not telling you to just jump on a plane and go, (although if you are – room for a little one?) what we’re saying is to head to Trader Vic’s for their Party Paradise. They’ll be embracing the Jamaican feel good spirit with live […]

100 Islington Now Open

Following on from a successful soft launch (always good to hear) 100 Islington is now fully open. If the name sounds familiar, then it’s because it’s from the same team as 100 Hoxton. Taking its lead from its sibling restaurant, 100 Islington will continue to serve up pan-Asian, fresh, healthy dishes with unique flavours albeit in a more spacious interior that features a larger bar (again, always good to hear) and with a hidden events space. Italian Street Food Market Opens

A taste of Italy is coming London this June as Mercato Metropolitano is making its UK debut in the new ‘SoBo’ area, just south of Borough. Originally opening its doors in Milan last year, the food market will be sure to be a new rival to nearby Borough market. Set in a gritty warehouse, the site of a disused paper factory, the huge 45,000 square foot market specialises in small producers from all over Italy and the UK and will feature an onsite bakery, butchers, fishmongers, coffee roasters, pizza chefs and, obviously, pasta makers. And if the food isn’t enough to draw you […]
