If you can commit to this full-on sin shedding transformation then the dedicated detox menu at Fitzrovia’s Percy & Founders will keep you on the straight and narrow. For those that managed to remain fairly restrained over the festive period (or who consider detox January a clever marketing ploy), Percy & Founders are catering to you too. Flip over the detox menu and find […]

A Look Back at the Foodie Highlights of 2015

Whilst we’re always told to keep looking forward – must.keep.moving. – it’s as customary at this time of year to make resolutions for the year ahead as it is to reflect on the previous 12 months. At points this year (September in particular) we could barely keep up with the volume of quality restaurant openings in the city. But we managed, and as things begin to slow down now, we’ve had a chance to reflect on the biggest foodie trends of 2015. Many restaurants are now on so many people’s lips that they feel as though they’ve been around for […]

Searcys afternoon tea review – what we thought

The Gherkin has been going for a while now and yet somehow I never managed to get myself in gear and make it over; well all that changed recently with the launch of their Christmas afternoon tea in Searcys. Located at the very top of the building, I had some brief vertigo as the dome of glass surrounds you giving you full viewing access. The inside was supposed to have been transformed into a winter wonderland, akin to a snow globe, but besides from a couple of Christmas trees and some pretty table ornaments, it looked much like normal restaurant – […]

Instead, expect an extra special spin on our midday favourites; the humble but ever-appetising benedict has been given two new leases of life. The first is Cornish lobster and crab benedict with chilli and coriander hollandaise and the second, with duck […]

First Aid Box Opens

We all know that drinking whisky is supposed to help a cold and that a G&T is a really good way to cure a headache (if it’s of the hangover variety of course). Ok, it might not be quite what the doctor orders but this certainly is. Opening on Friday is First Aid Box, a new bar in Herne Hill from the duo behind drinks consultancy Salts of the Earth and Brixton bar, Shrub & Shutter – Chris Edwards and Dave Tregenza. Throughout the day they’ll be serving up Alchemy coffee and fresh juice and come the evening they’ll be […]

If you don’t give it a read…Well, on finding ourselves stuck in the midst of the army of Christmas shoppers on Oxford Street, a force to be reckoned with, we weaved our way out of the crowds, feeling positively Scrooge like until we reached South Audley Street and headed to 34 for said Jingle Bells Brunch. They’ve teamed up with Georg Jensen who has just opened their flagship store on the neighbouring Mount Street. Standing proudly by the doorman were two white reindeer with bright pink collars and […]
