Clarendon Cocktail Cellar Opens

Tomorrow sees the opening of the Clarendon Cocktail Cellar, a new bar opening in Charlotte and Justin Salisbury’s third boutique hotel: the Artist Residence in Pimlico.   Situated under the Cambridge Street Café, it takes its name from the pub, The Clarendon, that was designed by Thomas Cubitt and dates back to 1852. However unlike in the 19th century, the drinks this time round takes their inspiration from iconic artwork and will be made using home-made tinctures and infused spirits. Each drink will arrive with a coaster depicting the artwork, take for instance Andy Warhol’s legendary Campbell’s Soup Cans, turn […]

Winterville at Victoria Park

‘Tis the season for hot toddies, ice-skating, candy floss and fairground rides! Winterville at Victoria Park is the ever-so-slightly understated (and therefore edgy) East London festive experience returning for it’s second season and we think you need to make it part of your weekend plans.  If you’re more familiar with the slightly larger, centrally located Christmas experience then imagine smaller crowds, great-quality street food and cabaret, comedy and club nights. A Snow White Christmas pantomime is one for the kids, whilst adults can cradle their sides at the raucous and critically-acclaimed Sh*t-faced Shakespeare (where one cast member of a classic […]

Vanilla Black Cookery Day School

If you’re vegetarian in most restaurants you’d be lucky to have half the number of dishes to choose from that carnivores do – bonus points if mushroom risotto doesn’t appear. Whilst we love a good steak and on a winter’s night a beef casserole is very hard to beat, we also think that vegetables should be more than just a side portion and (sometimes) deserve to be the star of the show.  Say hello to Vanilla Black’s Cookery Day School that can make anyone feel like Jamie or Nigella after a couple of hours. Put on by Icetank Kitchen who […]
