Dogtown Vs Slap & Pickle Food Battle

We don’t like fighting, it’s not really our scene unless, that is, it’s an epic battle, a fight worth our time… in short, a food fight. Not the sort of fight though that you picture happening in school canteens where somewhere throws some chips and then someone lobs a yoghurt back (did that ever really happen?) no we mean the sort where two street food companies go head to head in a cooking battle and we get to decide the winner. The King Co. in Clapham have welcomed  in burger connoisseurs Slap & Pickle and Dogtown London, the hot dog […]

You’re all ready to go, but then you look outside and it’s raining and windy and suddenly the appeal of going out and leaving the warmth of the restaurant seems less appealing, suddenly a taxi home seems very appealing. Well not anymore, because tomorrow sees the opening of Mimosa’s new club, below its restaurant.  The Fulham Road restaurant which serves up […]

Prize-a-day Advent Calendar at Village East

December is here! With just 4 Fridays until the big day, one of our daily highlights away from the stress of bulging bags for life and trying to decide an appropriate Secret Santa present for Dodgy Dave in accounts is punching open a little cardboard door each morning to find a mouthful of chocolate waiting for us. Even though, more often than not, the shape can’t be identified (is it a penguin? Is it a present?) and unless you can justify spending a tenner on an advent calendar then the chances are high that the chocolate leaves a powdery aftertaste […]

Soho Ski Terrace Winter Rooftop

Soho Sky Terrace is swapping the ‘y’ for an ‘i’ and transforming into a Ski Terrace for Winter Overlooking the iconic black and white building of Liberty’s, the terrace has always been a destination for Soho drinking but now even more so – you can just about see the twinkly lights of Carnaby Street below and the lights on Regent Street hide just behind. The terrace itself has a vintage feel to it – retro ski posters adorn the walls and skis are propped up around the edge of the room. Snuggly fur and velvet throws on the sofas are […]

The Ninth Opens

With over twenty years’ experience in the industry and tutored by Michael Roux Jnr, Marco Pierre White and Eric Chavot it was only going to be a matter of time before chef Jun Tanaka opened his own restaurant. That time is now. Opening today, The Ninth, which just so happens to the ninth restaurant Jun has worked in (see what he did there?) will be setting up shop in Fitzrovia on Charlotte Street. Serving up French-Mediterranean fuss-free dishes, it’ll be open Monday to Saturday serving lunch and dinner. The dishes are designed so that they are surprisingly light – which […]
