Bottomless Brunch at Harvey Nichols

What: Unlimited Champagne and all you can eat brunchWhere: Old Brompton Road, KnightsbridgeWhy You Should Go There: If you have no other plans for the day and want a seriously indulgent brunch.Favourite Thing We Ate: Paranza Popcorn – seafood and fish dipped in pastella, deep fried and served with squid ink mayonnaise. I woke up on my birthday to a text from my friend saying she hoped that my day would be spent drinking Champagne and eating far too much indulgent food. Hoped? Of course it would be.  So I headed over to Knightsbridge and snuck up to the fifth […]

Balance Box Review

Summer is coming and we are officially in beach body preparation mode but even with the best intentions in mind, eating healthily can be hard with hidden calories and misjudged portion sizes ready to trip us up at the first hurdle. Never fear though as it doesn’t have to be all that complicated thanks to Balance Box – a food delivery service that delivers meals straight to your door be it at work or home. You get breakfast, lunch and dinner with a mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack thrown in; you can choose from either the Lighter Plan for those on […]

Golden Arrow Tantalising Truffle Menu

When I glanced at my menu across the computer screen in my borderline office atmosphere I wasn’t sure if this menu was going to be a mutton dressed as lamb botched job. But I suppose it’s always better to surpass expectations that to let them down. In saying this, when I arrived I was pleasantly surprised the lights sparkled  like luminescent pufferfish – great interior decor. The ambiance was smart yet unpretentious a hard balance to capture, especially in a hotel. This wasn’t just another hotel restaurant. This was better. The Kelverton wild mushroom risotto with Somerset and Wiltshire white […]

Inn The Park

From the outside it looked like some sort of mutant beaver on steroids had taken up home here. From the inside it looked like sea world – after Free Willy had died that is. The bathrooms were especially prominent in this style of decor, if you can call it style at all. Upon arrival we met the hostess, swapped the usual boring pleasantries and were shown to our royal blue seats. Unimpressed with the exterior but relaxed and calm from the ducks in the park we set to order. The menu was pricey so we were expecting something extraordinary. Drinks […]

Joe’s Southern Kitchen Review

Joe’s Southern Kitchen has just extended its Creole inspired food from Covent Garden to a new venue location in Kentish Town, North London. It seems like an unusual area choice as on first appearance it comes across quite derelict, although it has been described as an up and coming town so maybe not all hope is lost. Once inside Joe’s though it’s a totally different story with the brand spanking new décor taking its inspiration from the deep south of the US with red leather booths, a wooden bar and exposed bricks. There are not enough restaurants like this in […]

The Rum Kitchen review

The Rum Kitchen is a Caribbean inspired beach shack restaurant and cocktail bar with two sites in Soho and Notting Hill. We found ourselves heading to the Notting Hill venue, rather fittingly the morning after a night out in the area. Hungry and looking for a hangover cure we were excited to be trying an alternative to the usual greasy spoon. Slightly jaded and walking from Ladbroke Grove station feeling shaky and in need of a cure to the horrendous self-induced hangover, the offer of brunch at Rum Kitchen was a welcome one. We knew that what we really needed […]
