The Four Thieves Review

I am proud to admit, there is nothing that I enjoy more than a good gin and tonic, (pop in a cucumber slice and you’ll make my week), which is why I knew I was in for a good night when I headed to The Four Thieves pub in Battersea. The newly opened haunt, which is quickly becoming renound for its many combinations of gin and fresh ale, houses its own brewery and in the near future, will be extending this to create its own fresh gin. It is safe to say I had strong expectations before I arrived and […]

Blind-Dining at Island Grill Review

I must admit that when I first signed up for blind-dining at Island Grill, I was a little trepidatious. It wasn’t the prospect of sitting in the dark that I was concerned about, more the fact that I am probably the most uncoordinated person in the history of the planet and felt it was more than certain that a great deal of food would miss my mouth and end up on the table. However, my fear was slightly reduced by the fact I had cunningly invited someone who was even less spatially aware than me with the mentality that every […]

The Playboy Club’s Pink Tea

Along with Halloween and the start of the miserable weather, October is all about raising awareness and detoxing, so along with Stoptober (quitting smoking) and Sober for October (raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support) October is all about getting people to think and recognise the signs of breast cancer. Which is why The Playboy Club has transformed their iconic afternoon tea served in the Salvatore Bar to The Pink Afternoon Tea, with £1 from every tea being donated to Against Breast Cancer and as 'On Wednesdays, we wear  pink', or in this case eat, we headed over to check it […]

The Jones Family Project review – what we thought

The hustle and bustle of London felt a world away when we arrived at The Jones Family Project in Shoreditch. With trees decorated with fairy lights forming the center- piece of tables, and a New York style long bar that would be Chuck Bass’ dream, the restaurant which has been set up by a group of friends lives up to its independent ethos, adding something different to your usual dining experience. Having acclimatized ourselves to our surroundings, we were seated in an intimate booth in the bar area upstairs. Despite being situated away from the main restaurant, this had a […]

Royal China Review

The award-winning Royal China group currently has six restaurants across London as well as four more internationally in Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Dubai. And although not lucky enough to travel overseas, we did get to go check out one of their London locations. Situated in the heart of Canary Wharf, beside the ferry pier, sits their Canary Riverside restaurant. It’s certainly a picturesque setting for a dinner date; looking out across the river at the capital’s iconic skyline and the terraced seating would be perfect for a warm summer’s evening. However the current, somewhat temperamental, weather meant we were […]

Pellicano Restaurant Review

Pellicano restaurant is a family owned Sardinian establishment who is currently finding a home at myhotel Chelsea, while their original residence at Elystan Street is under refurbishment. Their new location is on the ground floor of the hotel and has its own terrace when you can enjoy the hot, city nights while indulging in some people watching. The food is Italian with a Sardinian twist and like any good Italian boasts an extensive wine list, that being said the Raspberry Martini is a great summer cocktail, not so strong that you are floored but it has enough kick to know […]
