London’s skyline is one of the most magical and recognisable in the world. There’s the Gherkin, the Walkie Talkie, the London Eye, the Shard… they’re as familiar as old friends. So it’s no wonder that we’re jumping at the chance to spend some quality time in another one of our favourite landmarks: the OXO Tower.

The famous letters on this brick building have become a go-to destination for a fun night out. But we’ve got some big news: the OXO Tower Restaurant is celebrating 25 years and they want you to join in the fun!

From beef stock to brasserie: celebrate 25 years of the Oxo Tower Restaurant

The building was originally constructed at the end of the 19th century as a power station to supply electricity to the Royal Mail post office. Then in the 1920s, it was taken over by the manufacturers of OXO beef stock cubes. The company wanted to decorate the tower with bright lights to spell out the name of their product, but they couldn’t get permission. So instead, the architects cheekily built four sets of three vertically-aligned windows, each of which coincidentally happened to spell out OXO. And the building has become a London favourite ever since.

In 1996, Harvey Nichols launched their first ever restaurant the OXO Tower Restaurant, Bar and Brasserie on the eighth floor. It’s now been 25 years of fine dining, delicious drinks and romantic evenings, and to celebrate this epic milestone there are loads of treats in store.

Don’t forget your Ps and Qs

The first of many partnerships and events has just been announced. The restaurant is welcoming a new rice lager called Please & Thank You to the bar. It has been co-created by London Fields, Brewgooder and Wrestling Demons alongside bartenders, managers and chefs.

To mark the new partnership, two artists, Nic Mac and Iain Macarthur, were invited to transform the OXO Tower restaurant gallery with a huge mural on the walls. The beer will be stocked soon and will raise money for Hospitality one-to-one therapy sessions run by Me, Myself in Mind.

What else is happening?

The restaurant is keeping shtum about what other events and partnerships will follow but you can keep up-to-date with all the goings on via their Instagram. The restaurant

The restaurant has stunning views across the Thames to St Paul’s and dishes up the best British seasonal produce. The menu, which has been created by Executive Head Chef Jeremy Bloor, serves up contemporary dining and afternoon tea against an epic backdrop. It’s the perfect way to celebrate a special event or birthday.

The brasserie

The big open space for the brasserie is perfect for casual dining if that’s more your thing. Head Chef Keir Barry’s menu of seasonal ingredients is simply divine and there’s a whole selection of dishes cooked over a charcoal grill that’ll leave you salivating for more.

The bar

If cocktails are your jam, then do a beeline for the bar. Expert mixologists can shake up old classics or OXO Tower specials. Whether you’re looking for after-work drinks, a spontaneous afternoon coffee or just a few nibbles, this is the place to enjoy an evening you’ll never forget.
