The Lego Bar Is Now Taking Bookings!

Remember how we reported that there’s a Lego bar coming to town? Well good to their word, it looks like this is actually happening as they’re now taking bookings for the three-night-only Shoreditch pop-up! The concept was pretty simple, it’s a bar but everything is made out of Lego (or, to avoid a hefty lawsuit, they’re saying ‘bricks’ – but we all know they mean Lego). Previously billed to open last spring, the date’s been bumped to April 2019. The pop-up will be made from over a million Lego bricks, plus there’ll be Lego to play with, Lego sculptures, Lego […]

Clucking Hell! The Chicken Van That Just Became A Restaurant!

Cluck me! Mother Clucker have only gone and opened an actual mother clucking restaurant… mother cluckers! The streetfood specialists have spent the last five years honing their Southern fried chicken skills on the mean streets of South London, and South London really does know its fried chicken. And so it’s little surprise to hear that they’ve now decided to go big or go home with a bricks-and-mortar permanent home in Exmouth Market. We should look forward to some excellent breakfasts, (seriously strong coffee, like seriously), New Orleans inspired cocktails including Sex On The Rocks, Peeking Through The Grass Skirts and Kermit’s […]

Check Out The Skybar That’s Just Opened In The City

It’s officially the hottest day of the year, so here’s some legit medical advice: head straight to your GP and request they prescribe you a pina colada and roof terrace. And if you’re wondering where to take your prescription, look no further: Jin Bo Law Skybar has literally just opened. The bar, fresh off the plane from Hong Kong, is located on the 14th floor of the new Dorsett City hotel in The City, meaning that it’s got knock-out views across some of London’s most iconic buildings, not to mention views stretching for miles. London’s First 100% Vegan Pub

The Spread Eagle, may sound like a classic East End boozer, but you won’t find sawdust on the floor (that went years ago), you won’t meet an Alfie Moon landlord behind the bar and you definitely can’t order a sausage roll. Why? Because The Spread Eagle is London’s first vegan pub. Meriel Armitage, Founder of Club Mexicana, has joined forces with publicans Luke McLoughlin and Sherri-lee Estabrook to launch the pub which is 100% vegan. Vegan food, vegan fixtures and fittings and vegan beer. Dishes are straight from the core of Club Mexicana and are designed to be shared. Expect […]

Londrino, What The Portuguese Call Londoners

The Portuguese word for Londoner is Londrino, which was the natural name for Portuguese chef Leandro Carreira to call his new restaurant at London Bridge. After ten years in the capital he now sees the culinary traditions of his native Leiria through a new, Londoner’s, lens and he’ll be focussing it on the Portuguese dishes of his upbringing, reimagining dishes to reflect his new experiences. Based on Snowfields, a residential street just off London Bridge, the 70 seat restaurant is split into two sections, an a la carte restaurat open for lunch and dinner, and a relaxed all-day wine bar […]

Waka up and smell the Nikkei

Waka’s going to be a cracker when it opens on Eastcheap this week. The new grab-and-go brand will bring Nikkei, a fusion of Peruvian and Japanese cuisine, to The City. While the food may have started it’s evolution in Peru in the 1800s as Japanese migrants combined home cooking with local ingredients, the took and feel of Waka is entirely twenty-first century. The menu, prepared daily, will include sea bass ceviche with wasabi leche de tigre, hot chicken teriyaki rice bowls with Peruvian purple potato or try the salmon tiradito with apple and passionfruit sauce. All items are presented in […]

World’s Best Bar Founder’s New Bar

How do you celebrate being awarded ‘World’s Best Bar’? Start another bar. Which is exactly what the hugely influential Mr Lyan, star mixologist and founder of Dandelyan (AKA World’s Best Bar) has done; Cub launches this month and we can only expect big things. Teaming up with Doug McMaster from Brighton’s zero-waste restaurant Silo, MIT food scientist Dr Arielle Johnson and Champagne house (and luggage manufacturer) LVMH, Cub will offer a luxury drinks-led dining experience. In a sort of bar-restaurant industry fusion the venue intends to ‘blur the boundaries between food and drink’ (so soup?) with hybrid bartender-chefs who prepare […]
