When you think of Sketch, your first thoughts are pinky hues and crowds of influencers, snapping up the perfect ‘gram, and thanks to owner Mourad Mazouz, crowds of micro-celebs will soon be lining up on Heddon Street, eager to be amongst the first to snap a pic at Mo Diner, the new American-style diner opening in Mayfair. Mazouz, owner of Sketch and Momo, is opening up another eatery in the heart of Mayfair, only this time it’ll be an American-style diner with Mediterranean influences, located next to Momo. You’ll soon be filling up your Insta feeds with bright yellow Moroccan-style tiles, […]

Gazelle Restaurant Leaps into Mayfair

Good minds think alike, especially if you’re chef Rob Roy Cameron and drinks specialist Tony Conigliaro. The two hospitality hotshots are set to open their Mayfair restaurant Gazelle next week, wrapped in an Edwardian building brimming with personality in Mayfair. If you’ve ever tuned into a spot of David Attenborough and witnessed a stint on gazelles, you’ll know they’re a rather sleek and elegant creature. In championing this vibe and corresponding with its name, the restaurant too will play host to a private members club vibe, set amongst two natural light flooded storeys. As owner Tony affirms: “When we were […]

Camillo Benso Proves Milan Isn’t All About Fashion

There’s a new kid on the Mayfair block, and we’re intrigued. Milan: best known as a fast-paced metropolis that champions a frilled frock, bold boot, and over-all some very coveted fashion. However, the food is also worth a sample and this is something restaurant Camillo Benso sure does recognise as it brings Milan’s dining style to Mayfair. Everything’s that bit more exciting with a bit of sibling rivalry thrown in though, which is why we’re interested to see how this new Milanese hot-spot will compare to big sister in Milan. If you haven’t tried Amaro yet, Camillo Benso will give […]

Tom Kerridge Set to Open Kerridge’s Bar & Grill at the Corinthia This September

The instantly recognisable, Michelin-starred chef, Tom Kerridge will be opening his first London restaurant this September, with an equally recognisable ‘does what it says on the tin’ restaurant, Kerridge’s Bar & Grill. After announcing last year that his plans to open a restaurant at Jumeirah Carlton hotel had fallen through, another hotel stepped up and now, the restaurant will occupy the previous home of Corinthia Hotel’s restaurant Massimo. Updating their own designs, David Collins studios will be giving the restaurant a new look, with a dark green and burgundy colour palette, a rotisserie bar where diners can watch large joints of […]

La Mia Mamma: The Chelsea Restaurant set to Champion Tradition

If we were to tell you that new restaurant La Mia Mamma, set to open in Chelsea, imported a different Italian “Mamma” each season from a different region, you’d probably think we were joking, right? Wrong. La Mia Mamma keeps to its word when it says it’s going to deliver dishes true to Italian culture and tradition. La Mia Mamma will ring out Italian tradition as strongly as if you picked up the “it’s your Dolmio day” family straight from the advert and placed them in a restaurant. Whilst some of us may think of bangers and mash or smiley potato […]

Something Fishy’s Going On In Bloomsbury

NEPTUNE! The eighth and farthest planet, orbiting the sun every 165 years – wait, scrub that. NEPTUNE! The London-based investment management firm specialising in – no, no, wrong again. NEPTUNE! The intemperate Roman god of the waves, brother of Jupiter – okay, getting warmer. NEPTUNE! The latest restauarant from Brett Redman and Margaret Crow, the the duo behind Hackney’s The Richmond, comes to The Principal – bingo, the only Neptune worth hearing about (apologies to Nasa, the FT and the Roman Empire). The Principal is already one of the most interesting openings this year, a major London hotel right in the heart of Bloomsbury […]

The New French Joint Opening In Primrose Hill

Ferme the front door! There’s a new restaurant coming to Primrose Hill and we’re kinda excited about it. Step forward La Ferme (the farm)! Opened initially as a market stall and then a Farringdon restaurant by a precociously young 20-year-old François Guerin in 2012, La Ferme is a medley of French seasonal cooking and ingredients. The young chef has teamed up with his step brother Guillaume Dunos who will Head Chef the new venture. Dunos has worked in restaurants including Paris’s Gouquets, Prince de Galles and Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme so should be well suited to this new venture. And what […]

Brown’s Hotel New Restaurant: Beck at Brown’s

Last year Michelin starred chef Heinz Beck took up residency alongside drinks maestro Salvatore Calabrese at Brown’s hotel. Well, now he’s returning not just for a residency or a pop-up but to launch a whole new restaurant: Beck at Brown’s. Opening on the 16th April, the new restaurant will serve up classic Italian dishes using British seasonal ingredients. To start will be dressed crab with grilled Romain lettuce and wild herbs followed by the likes of spaghetti cacao e pepe with lime-marinated langoustine; Aged Rhug estate striploin with truffle mash and rosemary sauce; red mullet ‘sandwich’ with black olive and […]

Tom Oldroyd to Open New Hackney Restaurant

You’d be forgiven for thinking that Tom Oldroyd’s new restaurant, The Duke of Richmond was set to open in South West London. However, you’d be wrong, it will actually open in Hackney. Having originally opened in 1841, Tom will be restoring the site to its former glory in time for alfresco drinking this summer (it’ll feature a terrace with space for twenty). Divided into a dining room and a pub, the spaces will have their own menus, but they’ll both see seasonal British produce given a strong French accent. In the dining room you’ll find lamb sweetbread and asparagus vol […]
