Waka’s going to be a cracker when it opens on Eastcheap this week. The new grab-and-go brand will bring Nikkei, a fusion of Peruvian and Japanese cuisine, to The City. While the food may have started it’s evolution in Peru in the 1800s as Japanese migrants combined home cooking with local ingredients, the took and feel of Waka is entirely twenty-first century. Last November London was introduced to temper Soho and it’s safe to say, we welcomed it with opened arms – it’s been hugely successful, so now Neil Rankin is back with temper City and we’re predicting equally big things.
