BIG NEWS: Richard Corrigan Is Opening A New Restaurant

We simply adore Corrigan’s Mayfair. Think quintessential British and Irish cuisine fused with seasonal produce and chef Richard’s culinary prowess, so good in fact that we return time and time again to catch a taste of that Irish charm. Richard Corrigan is famed for his stalwart eateries, loved by many, which include Bentley’s Oyster Bar and Grill and the previously mentioned Corrigan’s Mayfair. Set to open in September, his new venture will sit just off buzzy Old Street and, we’re told, will venture deeper into seasonal influences with a a direct connection to the chef’s farm at Virginia Park Lodge […]

Kahani, The Restaurant Set To Be The Talk Of Chelsea

Chelsea is set to get a new restaurant this month, Kahani, from chef Peter Joseph. Having been the executive chef at Tamarind for ten years where he helped the restaurant maintain its Michelin star, Peter is now venturing out on his own with his first solo venture and he’s secured a rather nice spot in Chelsea to start. Opening opposite Cadogan Hall, Kahani which means ‘story’ in Hindi will be inspired by Peter’s upbringing in Tamil Nadu, the southernmost state of India but will use seasonal and sustainable British ingredients as a nod to his other home. Bringing a sense […]

Instagram Heaven Pergola Olympia Opens

Before nightfall starts to hit us circa 3pm, it’s probably best to catch some last-min city views, and Pergola Olympia seem to be thinking the same, with the intro of their brand-new rooftop location, up, up, up and away. If you know The Handbook, you’ll know we love a bit of a rooftop here and there, and this summer has been a blast with them. However, this botanical babe is sure to grab your attention, with “view goals”, seating for 500, three restaurants and, the important part, a huge open bar. It was about time Olympia had something on the […]

London’s 1st Restaurant Dedicated to Avocado Opens

Instagram, unicorns, matcha lattes and cactuses, nothing quite matches the ultimate millennial icon: the avocado. Yes, the humble avocado has found itself at the centre of all that is right and supposedly all that is wrong with us millennials. We’ll never be buying houses because we eat too much of it on toast, but we’ll have great skin thanks to its good fats. Swings and roundabouts. Anyway, why are we talking about avocado? Because London’s first restaurant dedicated to the fruit will be opening at this month and we’re feeling #blessed. Simply named, Avobar, the restaurant (filled with living plant […]

Gunpowder Plot Their Second Restaurant at One Tower Bridge

You know what they say, the smaller the better… or at least that’s what I tell myself as I stand on my tip toes to reach something from the top shelf. Yet, Gunpowder seem to be on side with my views, as their first restaurant was equipped with an intimate 20 covers. Now, a little sibling is en route in the form of Gunpowder numero duo, residing at One Tower Bridge. Situated in Shoreditch their first restaurant was a huge success, and whilst we’re sure this is because the Indian home-style cooking was a success, it’s equally an ideal pit-stop […]

The World’s Largest Collection of Tea is Coming to Covent Garden

There’s no doubt about it, a cup of tea really does make everything better. It sits on our work desks pushing us through e-mails, lands in the hands of strangers as we meet for the first time, perches on the lips of friends as we catch up, goes hand-in-hand with our morning cereal bowls and rests on our bed side table with a good book. With all this tea drinking, it’s no surprise we’re super excited for purveyor of tea, Mariage Frères – and also France’s oldest tea house – to bring tea savoir-faire to the capital and open its first […]

A Pick ‘n Mix of Cuisine: Isla Ray to Open in Deptford

If you’re an advocate for food-well-travelled, or if you find choosing whether to have an Indian or Chinese takeaway more challenging than rocket science, then new Deptford restaurant Isla Ray is the nomad-enticing, food conglomeration you need to try. Owner Rachael Dalton-Loveland has taken inspo from a range of places she’s visited across the globe, including Melbourne, to create a diverse menu created, as she describes, “through inspiration of places I have visited around the world and this is a medley of all my favourite.” Rachael’s menu of choice consists of salad bowls, meze plates filled with falafel, hummus, feta, […]

Food that’s in Fashion: Joe’s Café Relaunches

Joe’s Café looks like the type of place one might stumble across during a trip to pick up Miranda Priestly’s steak in Runway – smooth, sleek and unapologetically cool. Now, the much-loved city staple is relaunching under the direction of new head chef Anupam Som, after first opening in 1984. Housed within fashion store JOSEPH on Sloane Square, the fashion empire began in 1972 by the late Jospeh Ettedgui, and we’re grateful to him for feeding not only our appetites, but our fashion cravings too. The new menu includes starters of marinated heritage beetroot, and smoked salmon with avocado, olive oil […]
