Some say three is a crowd, we don’t, we say three is definitely a party and next week, Bukowski Grill is joining the party as their third site opens on D’arblay Street in Soho.
Back in 2011, designer/chef/owner Robin Freeman opened the first Bukowski Grill in BoxPark Shoreditch, next came Brixton in 2012 and now, four years later, Soho will get a slice of the American diner as they open their flagship site. To celebrate it will feature a new extended menu including new breakfast and brunch dishes.
Using British produce cooked over charcoal in a josper oven, they’ll be serving up the likes of pork nuggets with kimchi remoulade, buffalo cauliflower fritters with blue cheese sauce and Reuben hash, as well as BBQ bean cassoulet with smoked Toulouse sausage and confit duck leg, Swaledale lamb cutlets with smokey chilli jelly and deep-fried cream cracker coated smoked haddock with clam chowder – in other words comforting, feel-good dishes. As well as BBQ ribs, slow-cooked beef and pork dishes, BBQ and fried chicken.
They will of course be serving up their legendary burgers – it isn’t a Bukowski without burgers – we’ve heard that the one to order is The Smokey Beast a feast of beef, tobacco onions, smoked pulled pork, smokey honey, chipotle BBQ sauce, smoked gherkins, garlic and scotch bonnet mayo. That’s going to be one delicious heck of a mouthful.
At the weekend brunch will include the likes of cornmeal-crusted soft shell crab, poached eggs and hot sauce hollandaise or chicken, waffles, fried eggs and chilli maple syrup. Wash it all down with a breakfast margarita, a Darjeeling gin sour or a bespoke Bloody Mary – well it is the weekend after all.
To get you in the party mood they’re giving you a rather tasty 50% off during the soft launch so you can feast on all the burgers and fried chicken! Hurrah!
