Chef Dan Doherty is a national sweetheart on the culinary front, providing us with the kind of food we crave on a Sunday post night-out. Traditional, tasty and donning a twist. Now, the previous executive chef of Duck & Waffle is going it alone with The Royal Oak pub in Marylebone.

The staple pub is to open temporarily with Dan at the helm and showcase a short bar menu before closing later on this year for a full-blown refurb. Exciting stuff. The temp menu features an array of Doherty inspired dishes, with a plug at the seasonal and quality produce from the British Isles. So, whether it be cheese from La Fromagerie or smoked salmon from Secret Smokehouse you’re craving, or even both, then The Royal Oak has got your back.

Dan’s bio reads “Not many people have the luxury to do what they love. I am one of the lucky ones… As a chef, I have the opportunity to be inventive and create truly memorable experiences that resonate with people.” Appreciative of food’s ability to make everything that little bit better, Dan Doherty, who is working on this project alongside business partner Andy Ward, will be making the grand Victorian Grade II listed building a place to enjoy pub grub in an atmosphere alight with personality, and we can’t wait.
