New Italian restaurant Acciuga opens on Kensington High Steet today. Brains behind the venture is 24 year old former lawyer and projessional rugby player, Guglielmo Arnulfo. The venue will focus on food from Arnulfo's childhood, specialising in the dishes from the region of Liguria, in Italy.

Arnulfo has been honing his cooking skills for three years and has developed the menu himself. There is a strong focus on provenance and fantastic quality ingredients with dishes including Stuffed Courgette Blossoms, Troffie al Pesto – a Ligurian speciality pasta with just flour and water, and Cuttlefish in Zimino –  Tuscan Cuttlefish Stew. In addition there will be Liguria and Piedmont specialities such as Vitel Tonne – Slow cooked veal in an Italian caper mayonnaise and Cima Alla Genovese –  Stuffed breast of veal with a selection of cured meats.

Says Arnulfo , “It’s been a wonderful experience working with such a talented and creative team. It’s such a fantastic thing for me to be bringing the food of my region to the people of London and I can’t wait to see the reaction.”

Aunulfo has collaborated on the interiors with designers Carlo Ulmer and Rosario Zoccano. These feature clean lines and a monochrome colour scheme with panelled walls at the back in the style of Formasetti.

The wine list has been created by Vini Italiani and promises an exciting selection from across Italy to suit all palates and budgets. The wine cellar on the lower ground floor also incorporates private dining and seats up to with candelabras and ornate wall panelling throughout.
