If we were to open our own restaurant, then we’d definitely want Andi Oliver and Kelly Miles on our team. Sorry to break it to you, but we aren’t opening a restaurant… it’s alright though, because they are. Opening on 4th April on Stoke Newington Church Street, Andi’s will be both your new brunch spot and your go-to local brasserie.

Why would we want them on our team? Because Andi Oliver, is not only a chef, but also, a musician, pub landlady, supper club queen and a judge on BBC2’s The Great British Menu. Whilst Kelly Miles has 15 years’ experience in the restaurant industry. Together they put The Birdcage on Columbia firmly on the party map, attracting the likes of Rihanna, Jay-Z, Neneh Cherry, Alfie Allen and Nick Grimshaw and since then they’ve had their Sugar Shack residency at the Jackdaw & Star in Homerton. Safe to say they know what they are doing.

Andi says the food is designed to ‘uplift the spirit and calm the heart. It’s a little bit of love in your tummy.’ Just reading the menu makes us feel happy, it’s like a list of all our favourite things. Go on, have a read and tell us you don’t feel happy. Dishes include a French toast bacon sandwich with sticky maple syrup; a Reuben stacked with home-cured salt beef, sauerkraut and dripping with melted Swiss cheese (there’s a vegan version too); baked eggs with the likes of chipotle, or roast garlic and onion cream sauce with roast tomatoes, mushrooms, sausages, crispy lardons, smoked haddock or halloumi and energy bowls with pulses, green leaves, root vegetables and avocado mash.

Hasn’t this news just made you Monday that little bit brighter?

Andi’s: Opens 5th April 2017, 176 Stoke Newington Church Street, Stoke Newington, N16 0JL, www.andis.london
