You know the saying you can never have too much of a good thing – the line that can justify a whole manner of sins (funny how we never apply it to things like spinach), well if it applies to anything then it applies to the likes of Duffins (doughnut meets muffin) and townies (tart meets brownie) made famous by Bea’s of Bloomsbury or as we should now say Bea’s Cake Boutique, because along with a new cake shop and café opening in Marylebone on Devonshire Street they’re changing their name.
Opening next month, the new shop will have a new look to the other sites (St Pauls, Maide Vale, Farringdon and Bloomsbury) moving away from the grey, blue tones the new look will be fresh pinks and greens. They’re also embracing a new look, by embracing the past. Rather than the modern look that the current venues have it’ll have a classic afternoon tea shop look, with booth seating, low hanging lights, gold accessories and a vintage feel.
Of course they’ll be Belgian blondies, peanut butter and chocolate cheesecakes, townies, chocolate truffle cake, but if you’re getting married soon then you’ll also be able to see their larger wedding cake creations and make appointments with the wedding cake chefs at the main kitchen – we mean if they want to make us a three layered Nutella Duffin we won’t complain…

A bit of a cake connoisseur, Editor, Emily is constantly on the search for the best brownie London has to offer, a restaurant once even put them on the menu when they heard she was visiting… You’ll either find her on a night out or debriefing over brunch the next day with plenty of coffee and eggs.
