Blakes, one of London’s first luxury boutique hotels is famed for its opulent design, the vision of interior designer Anouska Hempel. Following the opening of the restaurant earlier this year, next month will see the doors to bar and lounge, Blakes Below opening following a redesign by Anouska.
Known for its intimate and hedonistic parties, the bar covers two rooms and has a distinct Asian flare, with a decadent, ornate finish as East meets West. The fusion in design will continue through to the cocktails which includes the likes of Tokyo Drift, Chai Tea Martini, Roland Garden and Love Pancakes (a name we can’t get enough of) which will see Woodford Reserve mixed with Amalfi lemon, maple syrup, blackberry puree, egg white and Angostura bitters. Joining the cocktails will be a bar menu which features truffle cheese burger sliders; soft shell crab tempura; spinach croquettes and platters of sashimi.
A sound track of ‘70s rock, ‘80s alternative and the latest releases will be accompanied by live sets on the piano and sets from world renowned DJ’s and on Sunday to Tuesday’s you’ll be able to host your private party there. Rather convenient then that the bar is directly below the hotel so you don’t have to worry about making it home…
