Last year we told you about the opening of BIRD in Islington, well now the BIRD team have spread their wings once more, taken flight and have built a nest over in Camden.
Their third site (the first opening in Shoreditch) which seats 60, will be serving up their free range, fried chicken, with a helping of discount. Because to help our ruffled feathers in this miserable month, from this Thursday until Sunday (21st-24th January), you’ll have 50% off the food bill. So that’s 50% off the likes of the fried chicken pieces and wings, 50% off the original waffle burger (two pieces of fried chicken with American cheese, hot sauce and Canadian maple syrup, sandwiched between two fresh-griddled waffles) and a rather tasty 50% off the Mu Shu crispy fried chicken (chopped fried thighs, served with thin Chinese cucumbers, scallions and Tonkatsu sauce). Clearly, no fowl play here. Of course you have to add the likes of cheesy Korean fries, jalapeno corn pudding and deep-fried pickles to your order.
The Doughnut Hatch will be back serving up freshly made in-house, glazed doughnuts. Choose from two different ones each day, we’re talking salted caramel with pistachio crumble, pink vanilla and peanut butter. Wash it all down with craft beers, draft beers from Camden Town Brewery or cocktails – we have our eyes on the classic, The Dirtybird made from vodka, honey, ginger, fruit juice and served with a shot of sparkling wine.
And no, we’re not awkward about our use of bird puns…
