If you feel like you’ve been to the Tate one too many times, or you’ve tired of the National Portrait Gallery (no mean feat) then we have your next culture fix… at Blenheim Palace, yes it is a little out of town, but there is life outside of London.

The contemporary and often provocative Chinese artist, Ai Weiwei is bringing his exhibition to the Palace where he will be displaying 50 iconic artworks throughout the Palace and its grounds. Classic, elegant, British history and grandeur is juxtaposed against his modern ideas, so if you step into the Red Drawing Room you’ll find hundreds of porcelain crabs, or lurking in the room where Winston Churchill was born are a pair of wooden handcuffs.

Parties of thirty or more can have a private exhibition which not only includes a private guide and tour, but also a Champagne and canapés reception afterwards amongst the artistic collection – because viewing art always needs to be accompanied by Champagne.

The exhibition runs until December 14th, but if you can’t make it and you’re still to plan your Christmas party then then you must attend one of The Masked Balls, alongside dinner and dancing there will be recitals of classical musical hits by elite performers from Les Miserables, We Will Rock You, Mamma Mia and Grease.
