Bluebird; it’s synonymous with the Kings Road, entertaining those in MiC and being one of London’s iconic restaurants. 2016 saw it undergo an extensive refurbishment and emerge with a refreshed menu, 2017 they announced that they would be opening their second restaurant in White City and now in 2018, that restaurant is opening.
Opening at the Television Centre, the restaurant will spread out onto a piazza overlooked by the centre’s famous circular core, making Bluebird at the heart of the £8billion regeneration. Designed by David d’Almada’s Sagrada the interior brings together British styling from the 1960s and the chic Chelsea edge of its sister restaurant. Art from young British artists and designs inspired by Bridget Riley and Ceila Birtwell will adorn the walls.
Executive chef, Simon Gregory, has created a modern European all-day menu which will include dishes such as nduja crusted yellow fin tuna with grilled onions and green sauce; butter chicken curry with basmati rice and spiced king prawns with yoghurt and pistachio. Puddings, pastries and desserts will be the work of Roger Pizey, the award-winning executive pastry chef.
The wait is almost over too as the restaurant will be opening in April and is set to mark the start of Bluebird’s expansion to other parts of London.
