Canary Wharf, not somewhere you think of when it comes to rooftop bars, despite there being so many tall buildings which would make for ideal drinking spots. Well that’s all set to change with the arrival of Bōkan.
Opening on the 37th, 38th and 29th floor of the Novotel London Canary Wharf, it’ll be serving up modern European dishes with a British slant and cocktails made from boutique spirits. Leading the kitchen will be Head Chef Aurelie Alternaire (L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon) who has created a menu using the finest British ingredients, start with British charcuterie and cheeses before moving on to sharing plates or bigger mains including line-caught cod, lamb shank and Highland venison pie and boozy bottomless brunches on Sunday.
Head up a level to the 38th floor to the bar where you’ll find unique cocktails made using boutique spirits from small batch distilleries, to go with them will be bar snacks such as oatmeal-dusted chilli squid with garlic dipping sauce and Scotch eggs with beetroot relish. The party will then continue on the 39th floor, the terrace will host renowned DJs and you can party the night away on recline on the day beds and plush cushions drinking in the views and the cocktails.
