Calling all mini golf fans, those looking for first date activities and those who get a bit geeky over technology; next week Puttshack, the world’s first super tech indoor mini-golf experience is launching in London.
Brought to you by the ping pong masterminds, Bounce, and the global phenomenon Topgolf, it’ll be opening as part of Westfield London’s £600 million expansion – they’re going for the big one: Europe’s largest shopping centre. It’ll also add to the current rejuvenation of White City which is seeing the likes of Feast, Bluebird and rumours of Soho House all moving into the area.
This isn’t just any mini golf, they mean business, so much so it’s taken them seven years to perfect the concept that will comprise of four courses of nine hole, each one an immersive experience based on computer, arcade and fairground games, new and old. You’ll find an interactive quiz hole and a giant pinball themed hole where the ball activates lights and sounds to help you get a higher score. Fancy.
Gone will be the days of cheating, let’s all just admit it, sometimes we didn’t get a hole in one three times in a row… because they have a new ball tracking and scoring system which is so shiny and exciting that they have patented it. Trackaball © will unlock new levels of gameplay and mini-computers inside the ball will monitor and share video highlights from each round.
To eat there’ll be a little bit of everything from southern fried tofu to popcorn chicken; pizzas and tacos to an eggs Florentine pizza; chargrilled watermelon, feta and wild rice salad to a Bourbon BBQ bun. To drink there’ll be cocktails made from some of the rarest rums in London.
Puttshack, opens this Friday, get it in your diary.
Puttshack opens 22nd June 2018, Westfield London, Relay Square, W12 7GF
