Brooklyn Bowl is launching its first UK outpost on 16 Jan at London’s O2. The 800-capacity concert venue will feature 12 lanes of bowling – three of which are elevated in a private party area with its own bar – and food by Bromberg Bros’ Blue Ribbon Restaurants.

It will celebrate its grand opening weekend with three nights of performances by the Brooklyn Bowl All-star Players – a collective of funk and soul musicians from Antibalas, Lettuce and Soulive, launching with party to coincide with the Brooklyn Nets playing the Atlanta Hawks.

"When thinking of another city that's as influential on global culture as New York, there's only one that immediately stands out," said owner Peter Shapiro, "and that, of course, is London. We're thrilled to be bringing the Bowl's unique and multi-pronged vibe to what really is the most important city in the world."

Blue Ribbon’s first operation outside of the US, sees a menu including Oyster Po' Bos, Cajun Catfish, French Bread Pizzas, Egg Shooters, and Fried Chicken while the bar will feature beers from the local Meantime Brewing Company. “We were able to bring our entire menu from Brooklyn and find local suppliers to source the freshest ingredients,” added Blue Ribbon Co-Owner, and partner in Brooklyn Bowl, Bruce Bromberg.

Brooklyn Bowl launched in New York in 2009 as a food and live music venue and has since hosted acts including Kanye West, Elvis Costello, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Gossip, HAIM, Snoop Dogg and Guns’N’Roses.
