A restaurant with a focus on whisky that’s open all day? I’m listening. Bull in a China Shop opens early April bringing with it over 30 choice Japanese and Scotch whiskies to the thirsty masses. Soaking up the alcohol will be a tempting menu of Chinese spiced, whisky glazed rotisserie chicken, black charcoal brioche buns, superfood salads and a host of breakfast bao buns, smoothies and sweet and savoury congee (rice porridge) for early risers.
Chef Simon Chan is the man behind the reworked classic dishes, giving them a contemporary twist while the concept of the restaurant itself is from Sara Lewin whose name you might recognise as she was behind the Cereal Killer Café.
Keeping up with its trendy Shoreditch neighbours, Bull in a China Shop, will use a Function One sound system musically serenade guests with playlists donated from DJ friends from all over the world including Femmi fem of Young Disciples UK and Samir of Dirty Diamonds Ibiza.
So pull up a pew, grab yourself an expertly poured whisky in the shape of a house cocktail like Bos Taurus made with Nikka, maple syrup, lemon juice and grilled Asian pear, a black brioche bun made from dough laced with bamboo charcoal and settle into the latest Orient themed all-day dining concept.
