Burlock: Cuban Nights

If you like rum and you like partying then you’re going to like Burlock. You do? Great, then let us proceed. Opening on 1st September between Marylebone and Mayfair, Burlock is a cavernous rum bar from The Breakfast Group. If the name sounds familiar then it’s because they’re the team behind the likes of Opium China Town and 68 & Boston.

Looking to Havana’s golden age, the 1920s – 1940s and the Colonial style of the 20th century, the bar will feature a Grand House ‘veranda’ which you can book up for up to 40 of your pals and a Havana style barber shop. Of course it isn’t a barber shop, well we don’t think you can get your haircut there, but if you can it would definitely be a time saver… anyway before we digress, it is actually a drinks area also known as ‘The Sipping Salon’. Talking of drinks, it’ll feature a 200 strong rum list as well as cachaça, rhum agricole and mezcal. Cocktails include the Grasshopper Deluxe, Daiquiris and Mary’s Pickled. Not sure who Mary is, but she’s pickled nonetheless. Accompanying the rum will be edible grasshoppers, Brazilian cheese buns and molasses glazed pork rib.

Afterwards you can dance it all off Cuban style, hips at the ready.

Burlock: Opens 2nd September 2016, 31 Duke Street, Marylebone, W1U 1LG, www.burlocklondon.co.uk
