Christmas: that time to over indulge in one, two or three extra mince pies; the time when it is perfectly acceptable to live off a diet of canapés and Champagne! It is also a time for hot rum bars, festive films and of course ice skating! In the second part of Christmas coverage we have got together some of our favourite Christmas menus and events that you can find in London this Christmas! 

Christmas Menus

Aqua Shard

Celebrating their first Christmas, Aqua Shard have a rather delicious Christmas menu, dishes include chervil root veloute with a chestnut crumble, roasted turbot with grilled ceps and sweet potato gnocchi and the Aqua Shard yule log! From way up on the 31st floor, you will not only have great food but also stunning views of a twinkling Christmassy London. 

Ben’s Canteen

Ben’s Canteen have the right idea when it comes to Christmas, as they say it is the perfect excuse to get stuck into far too much food and drink, hang out with old friends and make new ones. They also have the right idea when it comes to the Christmas menu, they are offering two menus, a two course menu and a three course meal and the latter includes a free glass of sparkling wine, hurrah! Dishes include winter spiced pork terrine, bacon and chutney and slow roasted potato and sage frittata, leek puree and gruyere. 

Broadway House

With three floors, two roof terraces and space for up to 600 people, Broadway House in Fulham really can cater for any sort of party. From informal parties in the Bar and Grill with canapés and drinks to sophisticated private dining, with a set menu in the Brasa. For a real party Broadway House can put on a buffet and get a DJ in! 

Cubitt House Group

Known for their great food throughout the year, the Cubitt House pubs: The Thomas Cubitt, The Orange, The Grazing Goat and The Pantechnicon are serving up a veritable feast this Christmas. Each pub has its own set menu with a range of dishes including spiced potted pork,  juniper cured beef carpaccio, roasted butternut and chestnut and sage wellington and mulled wine poached pear. We say make it your mission to try all 4 set menus!


Moving away from turkey and Christmas pudding, Hutong are sticking with their Northern Chinese cuisine and are serving up a menu without a hint of cranberry in sight. Think razor clams tossed with leeks and spicy ma-la sauce, red lantern soft shell crab with Sichuan chilli and mini egg tarts with steamed sweet lotus seeds buns. 

Ichi Sushi & Sashimi Bar

To celebrate Christmas, Ichi Sushi & Sashimi Bar at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge will be offering a limited edition Christmas Sushi Sharing Platter. Created specially by Chef Okamoto, this festive 35-piece platter will be available for the month of December, and will feature a delicious selection of Uramaki and Hosomaki rolls and Nigri, which will be artfully arranged into the shape of a Christmas tree. With a selection of both seafood and vegetarian offerings, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Pont St.

Over at Pont St. at Belgraves Hotel, they have a Christmas menu suitable for any sort of party, whether you are just after canapés, or want some Christmas bowl food to soak up some of that mulled wine or want to go all out with a full dinner, they have a whole range of menus to choose from. Examples from the menu include whisky cured salmon, halibut with cider and leek mussels and pecan pie with clotted cream. 

Shaka Zulu

If you’re looking for something a bit different this Christmas, Shaka Zulu might have your answer. Hosting a 3-course lunch on Christmas day with a complementary prosecco reception, Shaka Zulu is London’s largest South African restaurant. You could spend your Christmas Day surrounded by 20ft warrior statues and carved wooden murals, adding real theatre to your meal! Shaka Zulu prides itself on creating delicious dishes from the best and freshest ingredients in a colourful and vibrant atmosphere – perfect for the whole family to enjoy.

Town Hall Hotel

Viajante at the award-winning Town Hall Hotel in the East End will be offering a range of menus this Christmas: one special seasonal 8-course tasting menu that will be available for the whole of December, and a 4-course menu for lunch and dinner on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day which will include favourites such as beef tartare and hangar steak, and a glass of bubbly to start will be sure to get you in the Christmas spirit!

The Bingham

The Bingham are asking you to wear your most outrageous hat creation at their masquerade parties, and whilst we are excited about digging out some millinery wonders, we are also pretty excited about the menus on offer to. Smoked goose and duck terrine, Cornish sea bream and Christmas pudding trifle are all gracing the menu! 

Christmas Events

Bluebird Chelsea

Situated in the heart of Chelsea, Bluebird has installed a fabulous festive ice rink in the Courtyard for the Christmas season. Families and friends of all ages can enjoy a skate on the rink before heading into the Café to enjoy a warming fondue or champagne and Belvedere (RED) cocktails (for the adults!) Bluebird also has a Christmas shop, so guests can stock up on delicious mince pies and Christmas cake before heading down the King’s Road to shop for some Christmas presents.

Boisdale of Canary Wharf

This Christmas, Boisdale of Canary Wharf will host ‘The Iconic Vegas Christmas Show’, aiming to bring the glamour of Las Vegas to London. Boisdale of Canary Wharf will showcase the golden age of music, with a live 9-piece band featuring Jools Holland’s saxophonist, Pete Long, a horn trio, live singers and a dynamic rhythm section sure to help you get your Christmas groove on. Christmas hits will be played, and festive food and drink will be available, so head to Boisdale of Canary Wharf and imagine you’re in Vegas!

Brasserie Joel

Brasserie Joel at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge will be teaming up with Primo Bar to provide the ultimate ‘all under one roof’-style Christmas event package, which includes use of the exclusive VIP area at Primo Bar, which has fantastic views of London’s famous landmarks, and dinner at Brasserie Joel. If you’re looking to impress with your Christmas party, Park Plaza is the way forward. Brasserie Joel has also come up with a number of festive recipes, including Chef Walter Ishizuka’s favourite, Christmas Tuna Tartare, perfect if you’re looking to indulge after a long day of Christmas shopping.

Bulgari Hotel

On 22nd and 29th December, the Bulgari Hotel will be putting on a festive Sunday Brunch in II Bar. The menu will feature Christmas favourites such as roast turkey, yule logs and champagne, as well as the usual brunch options, including ‘piccoli morsi’, a section of antipasti, and eggs with bacon, smoked salmon and pork or veal sausages. The Bulgari Hotel will also be launching a bespoke collection of Italian Christmas panettone available exclusively through the Il Ristorante: perfect to give as a Christmas gift, or just to eat yourself – we’re not judging!

Charlotte Street Hotel

The Sunday Night Film Club will be adding a festive twist this December. As well as a 3-course lunch, dinner or afternoon tea in the hotel’s restaurant and bar, ‘OSCAR’, guests will be treated to a Christmas film screening. Films will include modern favourites like ‘The Holiday’ and ‘Polar Express’ as well as the old classics like ‘White Christmas’, which will be specially screened on Christmas Eve. There’s nothing like a Christmas film to get you in the festive spirit, so why not enjoy a weekend at Charlotte Street Hotel?

Dirty Martini

If you’re looking for somewhere to host your Christmas event, Dirty Martini is the obvious choice. With lots of different packages to choose from, you’re sure to find the perfect one for you.
