Cocktail maestro Salvatore Calabrese has just taken up residency at the Donovan Bar at Brown’s Hotel following on from the success of his December pop-up.

The bar has reopened following a complete redesign by Olga Polizzi and Inge Moore. The pair have created a glamourous space that emphasises Terence Donovan’s reputation as one of the most revered fashion photographers on the 20th Century. White, grey, British racing green and touches of gold, work together; shimmering surfaces and matte finishes are reminiscent of a camera lens and a photographer’s wet tray is reimagined as a glass bar top sitting atop a bronzed panel. The main bar has doubled in size and if you’re after an intimate spot then head to the revamped, luxurious ‘Naughty Corner’ where you and eleven pals can sit amidst iconic photography from Sir Terrence.

To drink you’ll find sixteen original cocktails by Salvatore divided into High Exposure, Low Exposure, High Contrast and Low Contrast. We’ve got our eye on the Lady Forte made from Don Julio Blanco Tequila distilled with Timur pepper, blood orange and grapefruit juice, agave and Moët & Chandon Champagne. The new cocktails will sit alongside Salvatore’s signature cocktails, drinks that he has perfected over his 40 years in the industry, including the Godfrey and Breakfast Martini.

The reopening of Donovan Bar joins the opening of Brown’s new restaurant, Beck at Brown’s.
