Right now life must be a beach for Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling as they open their sixth Inception Group venue – Cocobananas.

Opening just in time for the world cup, Cocobananas, the Brazilian beach shack handily sits next door to their infamous Englishmen’s pizzeria, Bunga Bunga, and will be bringing all the fun of a Latin American beach party to Battersea. Leave behind the grey streets of London and into the vibrantly colourful club, set across two floors it’s decorated with flags, vintage surfboards, palm trees, distressed shutter windows and a reproduction of Rio’s iconic Christ the Redeemer statue.

Boys donning surf shots and havaianas and girls in sarongs and bikinis will serve Brazil’s national drink cachaça in cocktails made with the likes of papaya and guava. Or go all out with a sharing cocktail such as  the ‘Da Cabana’ which is served in a vessel modeled on a Brazilian beach shack or the cheekily named ‘Bum Bum’ served in a lower body of a Brazilian beauty dressed in one of the country’s famous string bikinis….we have a feeling this one could become rather popular.

Menus on surfboards will offer Brazilian street food and pizzas with bites including authentic Kibe, croquets made with beef or fish, Empadinh, pastry parcles stuffed with chicken and spices, whilst pizzas will include The Loco – made with slow-cooked buffalo, bacon, chicken, red pepper and bbq sauce.

Hang out upstairs in the caipirinha bar or revel downstairs to Latin house, Brazilian electronic and beach tunes oh and as this is Cocobananas, capoeira dancers, girls from Ipanema and Champagne bossa novas will all make an appearance throughout the night.

What’s that famous saying again? If you can’t get to Brazil, then bring Brazil to Battersea…
