Mother Nature nailed it really didn’t she? You have to have hand it to her, she did a pretty great job. Benjamin Meyer and William Heath like to think so too, as this is the philosophy behind their new venture Counter Kitchen.
Opening on 3rd October, Counter Kitchen will be keeping raw, natural flavours at its heart as they serve up nutritious food without any empty calories. Heading up the kitchen will be Matt Edwards (Quo Vadis, Fino, The Harwood Arms) who will be serving up the likes of avocado on toast served with cucumber kimchi and almond butter toast topped with raw honey and cacao nibs for breakfast. At lunch there’ll be super food salads like the Magic Mushroom: sautéed wild mushrooms with rosso leaves, soba noodles and pickled daikon. So-called, not because of any hallucinogenic effects (well we don’t think so), but because mushrooms are packed full of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin D which us Londoners definitely need more of in the winter months. There’ll also be warming bowls like the Kimchi Culture made from Kimchi, stewed beef broth, silken tofu, pak choi, ginger, garlic and black rice. There’ll be a spacious terrace outside where you can grab an Allpress coffee or a glass of bio-dynamic wine too.
Mindful eating, seasonal menus and all championing nature – we’re on board!
