December Openings

Bocconcino London

Mayfair’s Berkeley Square and its surroundings is packed with every permutation of posh restaurant going, but what if you just fancy a pizza? Well as of this week, Berkeley Street is saying ‘bienvenuto’ to brand new pizzeria, Bocconcino. The new venue is the brainchild of restaurateur Mikhail Gokhner who was inspired by the vibrant flavours he experienced while visiting Forte dei Marmi. All your favourite pizzas will be on offer from the classics to the more unusual indulgent Calzone Four Cheese and Gorgonzola and Pear pizza. Opens December

Who says that burgers couldn’t be fancy? With as the newest opening on King’s Road proving exactly that. This is the second in the family with the new jaunt’s older sibling residing in Soho. Guaranteeing guilt-free burger eating, the gourmet burgers on the menu will not only be perfect for a mid-day snack or dinner but with rumours of a takeaway and brunch on the cards, also the perfect weekend place in  which to nurse that heavy Friday night. And with Christmas do, after Christmas do, just around the corner -we’re going to need it. Opens December 1st.

Fraq’s Lobster Shack

Opening in the heart of Fitzrovia, is Fraq’s Lobster Shack adding to the casusal seafood scene and it’s brought to London by brothers Andrea and Alberto Fraquelli (they’re the third generation of the family behind the Metropolitan Restaurant group). Small but perfectly formed, the 30 cover restaurant will also offer take out options. The short menu features dishes hailing from East Coast USA, with of course lobster being the main event – well they do say the best things come in small packages. Opens 1st December

Kitty Fisher’s

Named after the infamous C18th courtesan Kitty Fisher, this new bar and dining room will see Young Foodie of the Year Tomas Parry showcase a variety of dishes. Set in the heart of Mayfair’s historic Shepherd’s market, this restaurant will be steeped in history and saucy tales with an exquisite menu to match. For a step back in time, this is certainly worth a try. Opens December 2nd

Copita Del Mercado

With winter well and truly setting in, here at The Handbook, we are already yearning for the summer holidays and now we can have a slice of it with the opening of Copita del Mercado. Coming from the owners of Copita in Soho, this new restaurant will see tapas dishes as well as sangria and the Spanish take on gin and tonic. With a rooftop bar and patatas bravas on offer, Barcelona won’t seem too far away allowing us to forget the onslaught of winter…at least for a few hours. Sign us up please? Opens December 3rd

Having been serving up their barbeque street food throughout the streets of London, Hotbox is finally settling down with the opening of their first permanent restaurant in the heart of Spitalfields. Inspired by the flavours of the Deep South the menu includes dishes such as fish glazed pork belly masa tacos and devilishly good smoked mac n’chhese and bone marrow gravy mash. Opens 3rd December

Pure Taste

As we all know, Christmas is a time of indulgence, we’re chain eating mince pies and drinking more mulled wine than you knew you could, but if you’re feeling like you need a detox in between the tubs of chocolate then head to Pure Taste in Westbourne Grove. Its menu is 100% gluten free, Paleo diet friendly, dairy free, grain free, legume free, low carb. Low FODMAP, vegetarian and vegan – quite a list. That doesn’t mean the food is going to be boring though, oh no there’ll be rosemary plantain crackers, chickpea masala, coconut tatziki and white chocolate strawberry cups. Opens 3rd December

World’s End Market

Having started off as tavern in the times of Charles II, The World’s End pub is back and now known as World’s End Market. It’s the second project from Anatoly Parkhomchuk and Ruslan Ugarov who also launched The Crystal Palace Market this summer. As the name suggests the produce is market fresh with much of it coming from the fishmonger and butchers at the sister restaurant. Inside is stripped back with reclaimed wooden crates making up the walls and bar – they’ve gone for a 1930’s canteen look. Order a burger as they’re meant to be great and then head to the cocktail bar. Winning! Opens 5th December 495 King’s Road London SW10

Cereal Killers Café

There’s been the cat café, the free café, the café serving only tinned fish, but these are nothing compared to East London’s next big thing – a cereal café. That’s right, 100 types of cereal (if they can source it, they’ll sell it), 12 types of milk and 20 toppings, basically heaven.  The walls will be adorned with 80s and 90s memorabilia, so expect vintage cereal boxes and we’re hoping the toys you use to get in the cereal boxes – what even happen to those?  Opens 10th December

Bone Daddies

Bone Daddies is opening their third site this month on the first floor of Whole Foods on Kensington High Street. It’s a mix of their first Bone Daddies and Flesh and Buns, with space for 100 diners and it will be serving up ramen and hirata buns, alongside new dishes such as curry ramen. The perfect pit stop whilst shopping. Opening December

 Tonkotsu Dalston

Having been creating homemade noodles since a man in Tokyo told them that it they didn’t make their noodles from scratch, they were basically opening a soup shop, Tonkotsu is about to land in Dalston ready to provide the residents with the best ramen in town. And make their own ramen they did, perfecting a noodle recipe with the aid of a machine that was imported from Tokyo itself. Three restaurants down and with one about to open…wise words.  Opens December
